Cool First time at the track last night!

I dont usually post on the boards much, but I figured I would post about this. Anyhow, last night I took my 06 SE to the track, Maple Grove Raceway (3 minutes from house ). I ran some great times. My first pass ever with the car was 13.0@106 with a 1.94 '60, really launching it easy. My next 2 passes were about the same. On the 4th pass I figured id try and launch a little harder and shift a little higher, that pass nedded me a 12.9@107. The following pass I ran another 13.0. This is my daily driver and I didnt really want to rag on it that hard, but I know I could easily get a 12.8@108 mph out of it with a harder launch and shifting higher/faster. The only mods are a helix tbe and a K&N panel, otherwise it's stock.. I cant wait to see what it runs with a LICP, forge mbc, fuel pump and flash! I was really happy that I got into the 12's on a basically stock car, but furthermore I thought the mph was awesome. Anyhow I figured I'd share.. I have video and will post it as soon as I get it compressed to a reasonable size.

Thanks!

For only a TBE and K&N?? I could get into the 12.8's but I didn't care to launch the car that hard, my mph is good for 12.6's with a good launch.

It was good driving for his first time, but there is plenty of room for improvement, plus just a TBE and filter isn't much for mods. This belongs in the drag racing forum

No, that's not terrific driving - it's poor driving actually. However, he said he wasn't trying to rag it out. I personally don't understand why anyone would bother going to the drag strip if they're only going to half-*** it, but maybe that's just me. You only get 3-4 runs - might as well give it all you got, otherwise the times will be sub-par.

The good thing is he has decent traps. Full TBE is not really "nearly stock," though, because a tbe/mbc/flash can make 330-350whp and run low 12s/high 11s. The mbc and flash are just another few hundred dollars while the TBE was $600-800, so in the end, it's a good test case for us to use to show noobs that doing just a TBE is not wise and going to the strip without going all out is not wise. Toss an MBC and flash on this, and it will be much faster.
