What breaks on a stock MR at the track? Miles?
Couple quick questions.
I just picked up a new 06 MR about a month ago and I'm thinking of going to the drag strip tomorrow. I've only got about 800 miles on it. Do you guys think I should break it in more before taking it to the track, or not? I'm not worried about the motor, just worried about the clutch.
Second, what breaks on these most commonly? I have very little plans for modding it, so I won't be making crazy power. I'll probably leave it all stock this year, and next summer maybe do a flash and TBE. With these mods, will it break parts, and if so, what will it break? What are the first things to snap when drag racing, and at about what power level do they start to break?
I'm coming from an SRT4, and for some reason I just feel as though my new EVO is a lot more fragile then the SRT4. I never ran slicks on my SRT, because I didn't want to break stuff. I just have a feeling that because the EVO is AWD and will have way better traction, that I'm gonna break ****.....

But come on, you have an Evo now, stop thinking in a straight line.
No drivetrain worries on the drag strip unless you start making some big-time power. Just be sure not to drop the clutch. Almost all the 6spd trans failures are from road racing. TTP busted his 4th gear while drag racing, but he's trapping high 120s, and he's the only one I know of...
Brake fluid, change it to high-temp-rated stuff (like Motul). Brake pads. Get decent ones. Stay away from Hawk HPS, they are crap for the track, period.
Good luck!
Edit: Whoops, I just realized you meant dragging, not time attack / road course racing, sorry :-). You only need to stop once, so meh.

I have 11,000 miles on my car, about 400 launches, over 200 drag runs and lots of autox runs. The only thing that has broke on my car is the stock throw out bearing cracked in half. It was replaced under warranty. The mechanic said he had never seen anything like it.

No other main difference on the Evo gsr, RS and MR other than the 6 speed. Everything else is comparable in all 3 trims

Even the clutch is a very subjective part. People on this forum has gone well over 45000 miles like Slowcar (Abner), that was on stock clutch. It is obviously directly related to how you drive it.
Definately I wouldn't name the clutch since all the Evos have basicly the same clutch assy making them no different from each other.
