Burn out?? Prepare for the track

Hi guys

Just trying to prepare for the track this Wednesday. Do we need to do the burn out on the Evo? If not, do I just drive around the water box and up to the line? Thanks in advance.

How the hell are you planning on doing a burnout on the evo?????anywyas,i read an article somewhere that burning out on street tires are actually bad., makes the tires britle and less grippy. its diffrent on race tires, helps them wrm up.

Thanks, just to make sure.

I used to have a GMC Typhoon, and with that we do a little quick burn out just to clean up the tires. The drive train on that thing also a little beefier. Thanks again.

I think I read the same article. Worthless to burnout unless you have race tires.

Yep you can... here in S.D. a guy does a mini burn out with his Ra-1s at Qualcomm all the time... intimidating as all hell when your driving around the water on the other side...

on street tires try to avoid the water box, on drag radials or slicks do a little burnout. I only race in one lane at gainesville raceway because only one lane can avoid the box.

Is this guy drag racing on Ra-1's? I can't imagine that would provide much grip at all. It usually takes a few laps around a road course for me to get them up to temperature. They are worse than street tires until the get hot...
