50trim 1st time at track

well I just finished a 50trim install with a bunch of ther supporting mods of course. I brought it to the track last night (first time ever at the track)

Well my best was
60' 1.84
1\4 12.38
MPH 114.6

I know my 60' can be better but to be honest this I am not used to the exedy twin yet either or the 2 step for that matter. But Is it jsut me or are my MPHs a little low and times a little slower than they could be? Is that all in the 60ft really? I do know that this run was only at 20-21PSI and upped it but was unable to get a good launch because I was trying to hard so I never got a good run after upping the boost.

Other things to note the temp was around 95degrees and my tune is a turbotrix mail in. I think I need to have it dyno'd or I gotta log a run and have it tuned accourdingly. I did notice my AFR up top was 10.5 or so. Overall I am happy so far I started the night off with a 14.5 and no launch. then went to a 13.6 with a bad launch. then got 12.44 12.38 and 12.48 all 3 were 1.88 , 1.84 and 1.93 60's

I guess I just figured the setup would trap around 118 and run high 11s (if I could drive it) all things added together are what prob contributed to the lower traps and times. Ill post links for vids of the good runs

just don't understand bigger turbo's time is not always better than stock, then why bother upgrading to bigger turbo?
seriously, the stock turbo can run that time.

get a custom tune.

my car on straight 93 stock motor with 272s at 21 lbs of boost was trapping 118.
and that was through a highflow cat.

114 sounds like your tune isnt up to par, or something else is going on?

Here are your mistakes for they are plentiful:
- Great turbo kit, but why in the world get a mail-in flash for it?
- Wrong cam combo for the turbo and you paid extra for the HKS name
- SSQV is an awful choice
- Tein STechs are awful for your car
- RnR FMIC is a poor choice
- 20-21psi is a waste on that turbo.
- Your 60' does not have much effect on trap speed
- These are stock turbo stg1 Evo IX times.

You need to drive down to orlando and have TTP custom tune your car. You will see a big diference cause you have bigger turbo and injectors that an e-mail tune not always get right...

just wondering, what DV unit would you use (stock ecu)?

with plans of running higher boost in the future (i would assume)

The one I recommend in my package, which is the Forge RS. The JDM MR DV/IX DV is great, of course, but if you want to run high boost, then the Forge RS is the better choice.

i would just run the stock evo 9 dv. I also made the mistake of runs the hks bov on my older dsm and you be suprised with power lose. You might be better off on a custom tune running that bov

All of which I am well aware. The bov I am trying to sell for a forge rs. The FMIC I paid for with rocks it was cheap but not a permanent thing same with the tune. It is only intended to get me running for now. I was planning on hitting a dyno but getting to one was not easy I think I am going to trailor it to turbotrix for some dyno time but I was going to wait for a meth kit first. And the cams I got cheap from a friend. I know my tune is super rich up top and as I said I didn't know I was only at 21psi untill after those runs
