Got kicked off the track!! new best 1/4 mile for me...time for a cage

so I made it to the track today in the evo. Only got in two runs and then I got kicked off for not having a cage. Both runs were on straight 93 octane and regular street tires (toyo proxes T1S) First run of the day I had lots of wheelspin and my slip looked like this...
60': 1.908
330': 5.104
1/8: 7.671
mph: 96.67
1000:9.867
1/4: 11.688
mph: 123.73 (fastest mph)

second run I took 4 lbs of air out of the tires all around and got my new personal best
60': 1.741
330': 4.864
1/8: 7.429
mph: 96.60
1000':9.645
1/4: 11.483 (quickest time)
mph: 122.64

Nice times! Going anything faster than 11.5 requires a cage?

under 11.5 needs a 4 or 5 point cage. I forget which it is. I havent had it on the dyno yet since the new mods. we just street tuned it

That's great results for such a short time. When you get the cage, you'll drop those times very quickly. Nice job.

Is that NHRA or local track rules?

Can you please explain to me how a roll cage will decrease 1/4 mile times? You are adding weight to the vehicle. Yes, your are stiffening up the chassis, but that would be beneficial for autocrossing and road racing.

Because he can make more "legal" practice runs on the drap strip and lower his ET
