First time to the track, I did allright.
Well I ran my car for the first time tonight, I ended up running a 13.54 at 101 mph I had a 1.5 for a reaction time and a 2.3 60foot. Ive never launched an awd car or been to the track before so I think I did allright.Hopefully I do beter next weekend when I go back.
i would practice to lower you 0-60ft times. if you're stock, u should try to hit lower 13's and stay in 4th gear to the finish
edit: slip the clutch too if u didn't. a 2.3 0-60 is usually when the car bog down then takes off. is that what you did? just my 50cents

A few tips ...
1) Don't baby the clutch on the launch. When the slack is gone from the drivetrain, get off the clutch quickly!
2) Leave on the 3rd yellow, not on the green. This will lower your R/T. You have ~7" of rolling room before you trip the lights if you stage correctly.
3) Stage "shallow" (where the second set of staging lights are just coming on) for the best trap speed and ET. This basically gives you a running start.
4) Shift above 6800 or so. I've gotten the best results in my MR shifting at ~7200, but it will be different in your 5 speed. Try different shift points and watch your trap speed to figure out the best shift point.
Good luck on future trips!

I can't wait to get to the track for my EVO's first run down the 1/4. I'm kinda scared cause the track is about 3 hours away & Ill be on a stock clutch. I have not launched the car yet, because I know the stock clutch only has a few launches in it. Maybee I'll get enough money for an upgraded clutch before I go.
My mods are a megan racing 3in tbe, 4 inch mas adapter, clutch, turbo xs boost controller and 264 cams. Now dont forget today I have owned the car for a week so I havnt had much time with it.

Just don't be afraid of the clutch. As long as you still have the pill in the clutch line you can disengage very quickly after the slack is out of the drivetrain.

. Third run I did a 12.7.
