2) Leave on the 3rd yellow, not on the green. This will lower your R/T. You have ~7" of rolling room before you trip the lights if you stage correctly.
3) Stage "shallow" (where the second set of staging lights are just coming on) for the best trap speed and ET. This basically gives you a running start.
4) Shift above 6800 or so. I've gotten the best results in my MR shifting at ~7200, but it will be different in your 5 speed. Try different shift points and watch your trap speed to figure out the best shift point.

Good luck on future trips!
Great ****!!!...I meen tips!

do evo 8's have two steps? if so, just rev it up to 5k, and let mitsubishi do the rest...except drop the clutch of course

Remember that the fastest and most powerful Evo's out there are 8's

either you dont have as much power as you say,or your not launching right

the stock clutch cant handle a good launch with that much power,BTW,i cut consistant 1.7/1.6s with it.....to the OP,it takes some time so keep praticing and read up on launching

Huh? Launching hard doesn't break your t-case. Dumping the clutch at 7k kills your t-case (and doesn't give you a good launch).

The launch sucked, the time is weak, the mph is weak, and you posted in the wrong forum. So what? Go back and do it again - you'll get better. Never go if you only get one run and never go if you're not going to launch. It's absolutely worthless if you don't launch hard enough to get 1.7 60's.

And how long has the 9 been out now? If that were the case, the 1st generation of Evo's should be dominating the tracks. You do know there were Evo's before the 8 right?
