This is in no way a scientific method of validation, but the night you ran the 1.4 60' were other cars pulling off the wall 60's? Just something to consider

I honestly don't know.

They took along time to set up the clock and I was first one to run. I was so happy with my 13.1's back to back that I left as soon as I got my slips.

I only posted the last times as what I ran. Pretty much we have invalidated those first slips because with the same car on a different night I was not able to achieve the same times. Not even close.

At it again...

I upped a little boost and just went for a test before I put on my new tires this week

Slip reads...

.512------ reaction
1.899 ----60foot
80.79 ----1/8mph
8.528-----660
102.04----ETmph
13.384-----1320

12.9 is my goal and I feel it is close. I can just feel it.
I just want to change my avatar one more time.

this thread is very amusing, and like most others have said. the timing system is flawed for sure.

Well what happened before was over a year ago...

Just updating my thread instead of starting a new one.

Now I have on 4 new tires and I expect to get that 12.9 as soon as the timing system is being used again. The track was open lastnight unfortunately it was just a fun run night.

0.4418- RT
1.4913- 60'
4.1762- 330'
5.984- 594'
6.4062- 1/8th
106.58- 1/8th mph
8.2812- 1000'
9.8911- 1/4
142.92- 1/4 mph

There is my best 60' to date. This is on a fully built car, making over 600 hp and on slicks. As for mentioning the clutch, Im running an Exedy triple disc. And this run could snap a neck on the launch. the car fish tailed both ways coming off the line before staightening out.

But there is a rough look at a 1.4 60'.

Thanks Celica,

Just remember that my car is extremely light compared to the newer Evo's but when I finally catch the lights on another night I will post the last or latest results.

I've gone from 340 tread wear to 260 so that should help with the grip.

My car was just under 3k pounds last year without me in it. im assuming that 2700 on yours was also without you in it? if so, its not going to make that much of a difference. Im just showing the kind of power needed to produce a 1.4/1.5 60' time.

Celica,

Trust me I have been told this many times about the power requirements needed to produce that kind of 60 foot.

Only reason I am continuing to post in this thread is to keep my times in the same place. At the time however that I started this thread I had spent a considerable sum revamping my car and just wanted the expense to be justified. When people queried my slips it was disappointing.

A year later though my goal to run 12.9 still stands. The MPH is up but the elusive 12second club has not come yet.

Within the next 2 weeks I hope to join up.

i wish you the best of luck. Believe me, I have been ripped on plenty around school and lacally due to the fact that i didnt build my car. Ill tell anyone its a Buschur built car, im proud as hell of it. but I understand where you are coming from with people taking away how happy you are with the car.

just use the negative comments and hatred bottled up, and then use them to reach your goals. Most people that are negative about it are jeaslous. The ones that explain what you need to do have been there and have gone through it all. We understand what you need to do to reach your goal.

the people that write you off and just say negative things, use them for fuel. People like Wartallon, CO VR4, and myself are here to help you better your skills and reach your goal. If you need help/advice just ask, we are all willing to help.

Very informative Celica. Just to add a little more to the mix I am currently making 442whp 482wtq and my best 60ft is a 1.52 on M/T motorcycle slicks. Funny thing is though it didn't feel like a neck breaker. Guess I'm already getting used to 1.5's

alot of it depends on the track. Hell, Norwalk anything feels like it breaks your neck because there is NO spin. When mine did the 1.49 there was still a little spin to cusion it. my car is capable of low to mid 1.4s. I have a feeling at the shootout on slicks, a 1.4 is possible this year.

either staged with rear tires or something or beam stay blocked until your rear tires passed.Just to give you an example my old corolla (rwd)use to do 1.35-1.40 60ft times and it ran 9.4s .my evo does low 1.7s and it runs 12.1 @ 114mph.theres a big difference in 1.4s and 1.7s ive done 1.10 60fts (rwd)and thats a whole another thread.

I'm not really into debating this much more but you guys keep talking about neck breakers. That is exactly what I felt compared to previous launches.

There were 2 factors working for me whether the clock was correct or not that night.

1. I had a spare engine and gearbox so I was revving high and Launching without a care.

2. I stayed on the line until I was good and ready to move hence the 3.5 etc reaction times.

I don't do either of these any more.

I launch the car at 6K rpm.

With the new tires I expect 1.7s though atleast that is what i am hoping for.
This is my daily driver and I can't afford to break it in search of some elusive thing.
