Someone Shoot Me... Or Help Me Learn How To Launch

someone wanna come down and teach me????

Actually I will be on Long Island from the 19th to the 23rd where do you run at? I have a MR to and best to date is 1.69 60' 12.3@108 I had a little boost problem last season hopefully it is fixed for this year but won't know til the track opens.
105 seems low regardless of the launch but this is my .02
You need to have the rev limiter raised or disconnect it (search forum for how to do this) make sure you reconnect it when done racing or the revs will fall really slow in between shifts. Now that the car is ready...
Rev it to around 6k-6.5k Let the clutch out just a bit now your ready... let the clutch out slow until the car starts to move then drop it. In reality it will almost feel like you just dropped it but there is a very slight hesitation to engage the clutch before you dump the clutch. Let it out to slow and you burn the hell out of a stock clutch and may get wheel hop, let it out in drop and you will get drivetrain shock. A great launch will get you a low 1.6. Hope that helps. The whole launch is very fast once you master it. If you have a twin disc launch it like your trying to light up a honda civic's tires ie... slip it a bit more.
There are some that can launch at the 5k rev limiter from the factory. I find it really difficult.

when i got my tune, they raised the redline to 8000. but this doesnt help (and it also scares me that the engine will blow up).
if i rev up to 6k, and slip or drop (whichever), it revs to the 8000 rpm redline in a split second, and i have to shift into 2nd gear. then by 50mph, i have to shift into 3rd, by 80 into 4th, by 1/4mile well into 5th... the bad start, and high gears all add up to a horrible time

There are 2 different kinds of rev limits... your 8K is your every day driving limit and saves you from being an idiot and over-revving (in most cases)
the second kind is your 2 step limit... Push your clutch in and slowly step into the gas pedal until the needle starts kicking back and forth (If they didn't touch yours in your tune, it should be around 5K RPM.
This second form will help you launch a ton better... What it does is hold a pre-set load on the motor and allows you to leave the hole like a bat out of hell... Hold the **** on...

yes, while standing still, my limit is no longer the 5000rpm. its now more like 6500-6700 (at which point the needle boggles back and forth)
