Camaro a challenge??

Next weekend I have a race with a Camaro SS (on private property) I have a feeling he is going to want to go from a roll. SUPPOSIBLY he is only running a full exhaust. I'm putting down about 340whp on buschur's mustang dyno. I'm thinking he is probably going to want to go from a roll. What is the fastest that I should go from a roll at to insure I win?? p.s. a lot of money on the line lol

if u have "alot of money on the line", then maybe u should have done a lil more research on ur competition. now if u wanna give me 1/2 of the winnings i'll tell u EXACTLY what to do for a guaranteed victory. BTW, this "race" means nothing unless it's on a drag strip or track so stop wasting our time...

You shouldn't do it for money because how do you know he is being forthright? A SS has hit hit 105-108mph stock, freaks, but they have..... free mods and exhaust could put him right by you from a roll, so I say from a dig.

It wouldn't take much at all for an LS1 Camaro to put down 340RWHP. The later models (01-02) consistently dyno above 300RWHP stock. Should be a good race - you better hope all he has is exhaust.

I did a roll with an EVO not long ago, he had Cams, cai, exhaust... he was beside be for a bit but above 100mph it wasn't good for him... started at 55mph...I would try to keep the speed as low as possible and hope he has traction issues...

if he says it not fair tell him its not your fault gm didn't off awd as a option....another point to make is does the nhra do races from a roll...i think not.....so bs, rwd owners came up with to compensate for their drive train setup...... and if he says roll only, say ok lets wait till next winter....haha

Can't disagree with you one bit... Our cars are definately not the greatest at running from a dig BUT drag racing doesn't start from a roll. We all know the rules and if we lose we only have ourselves to blame.

340 on Buschur's dyno is enough to walk the Camaro... but if he has any other tricks up his sleeve, it could be close.

A shot of nitrous or a cam and those LS1's are no joke

An exhaust, programmed PCM and forsay intake can yield almost 400 hp on an LS1 camaro. A good driver can hang with an EVO off the line. I have seen it many times. My 68 can launch just as fast as any evo. If you can check his car out. will tell you alittle about it. IMO

340whp on Buschurs should put you into the mid to high 11Xmph range. Should be enough to handle the Camaro assuming he's not hiding anything and you're a decent driver.
