S2000 runs low 9s!!!
The time has finally come to where an S2000 can be recognized as a true drag racing vehicle.
Just playing. The S2000 is far from drag racing material, but one can make it as such with the right amount of money, dedication, and experience. For about 2 years now an acquaintance of mine has been working on building a drag car out of an S2000. Teaming up with inlinePRO, a very well known tuner shop on the east coast, he achieved a goal that most people could only dream of: 9.36 @ 143.9 MPH!
Here is a thread on s2ki.com which provides more details:

I am working on making my S2000 a drag car, and fully expect to see it run 8s! Time, and a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY, well tell.

Yes, the R200 diff is from a 300ZX non-turbo. inlinePRO make a kit which includes custom billet brackets, DSS stage 5 axles, DSS stage 5 driveshaft, custom hubs and ARP extended wheel studs. Kit is supposed to be good for up to 1000hp. I currently have this kit on my S2000, but am looking to sell it, have my car back-halved and run a Ford 9".
