Post up Falken RT-615's 60' times here
I just picked up a set of 255's on the stock bbs wheels.. Im hoping to get to the track on thursday and see what she can do. I was only able to cut 1.75's with the stock advans. I know these are not the best tires for drag racing i just needed new tires.. im not looking for anything amazing.. ill be happy with high 1.6's..
ill keep you posted.
MOST-WANTED... Amazing driving.. I think i need a driver mod... How do you run a 7.3 with little bolt ons? Makes me sad when i look at my times.

As for little mods, I agree on the blue car. It had nothing done to it and it was very fast. I broke it in using my proven technique and that car never stopped impressing me. This white one I have now has been very difficult to get going fast and I attribute it to buying it used and not doing the break in myself. It has alot of mods and is only just now doing good things. On a good note, it did the 1/8 in 7.0
It should be better next time out as I once again have changed many things... One other thing you guys have to consider with the 60's is I launch at 6800. Doesn't matter what tire I'm on I set all my two steps for that number and fine tune around it. My current set up is 6811.
That's high! Now, when I was on stock suspension, I was always best about 5800 or 5700... 6000 would just result in mad wheelhop/spin...now, on my apexi n1's, I noticed I had to raise that.. I was expecting better 60's, but only cut a 1.72... later on at the garage I found the culprit was a stripped front motor mount bolt!!!
I might try your idea soon, now that the mount is fixed... I'm also putting in a Buschur rear mount... I think I was at 6300 2 step last time at the track.... getting up there anyways!

There has to be more to it - it has to be the track. It's not the clutch that gives the 60's. I am ripping the tires off the rim all the way through 1st even with a 5200rpm 2-step and 18psi all around. If they can't hook, they can't hook. It requires a track with amazing stick and great track prep, then after that it requires a strong clutch, good power, and a high rpm nasty launch by someone who knows what they're doing.

In fact I ran the white RS back to back between the tracks and my 60's were over a tenth slower at Moroso. I am telling you the secret is in the launch. Ask Scott or Ryan at TTP what my new car launches like
LOL.... The rpms have to be high and you need to keep the rpms loaded with a slip type launch. This is why you need a clutch to handle the abuse. Works for me. Same power range as the blue car and my 60's are 1.5's now but with a great tire and lighter car. I am confident I can get the 60's down next time out and also confident I could run these times below on RT's as well. Here are the latest 60's.
1.551, 1.550, 1.548, 1.547
And for the blue car I went back and looked at other 60's just to see and I saw several 1.610, 1.627, etc all done on the RT's. I think my old set up was perfect for being fast with little money invested. intake, exhaust, and flash.

Eh, I guess, but unless you're talking about absolutely destroying the clutch on every run by keeping it slipping all the way through first, then I don't think the clutch is the key.
I can guarantee it is not the track. Moroso is the worst track in the state. I am much faster in Orlando

My current set up is 6811.Ive always had the idea that keeping the 2step down as low as possible was better for launching so you dont rip the tires as much. Ive tried as low as 5200 rpm and still spun all of 1st. I guess a high 2step and good clutch slipping is the answer,,
Im going to try to go to the 1/8 mile track today with 20psi in the tires and a 6800 2-step. Ill let you know how i do..
THanks for the info..
Yeah, well, that's what I'm saying. I have the same clutch, and I've always done the quick slip - of course no dumping...no one does that. However, it still rips the tires off the rim due to the tires having stiff sidewalls, not being good for launches, and 0 stickiness. You said earlier you have to keep slipping the clutch - someone else read it the same way. A quick slip will stip absolutely break the RT-615s loose unless the track has amazing stickiness.
Driver is the most important part, yes. However, a driver can only do what the tires allow. No-name brand, non extreme performance tires are going to be easier due to a softer sidewall. I keep saying that. I did mid-1.6s on the Advans on a great launch pad with 300whp. I also did 1.8s with the same tires on a non-sticky launch pad.
