7600RPM is the Factory Rev Limit. Don't you think Mitsu won't made a valve spring that will rev 1K pass the rev limit?

I've been spinning mine to 8500 since December 07 as needed to make it through the 1/8th mile in 3rd gear or 1/4 mile in 4th gear without hitting the limiter or having to shift to the next gear. I use it sparingly because I know it's risky.

I think the specs on your cams have alot to do with how high you can safely rev the motor with stock valvetrain. Lower lift/less ramp profile has a ton of impact on rpms the stock springs can manage.

HkS cams have lower lift then Cossie's for example. Refer to your cam card for the info.

Just my.o2.

How important is it to replace the rod bolts and how much of a PITA is it? I've done it on a DSM but have never had an EVO opened 4G63 opened up.
