~Video~ Destruction of a Evo axle and rear diff., Bandimere 2008

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/D...xle_171715.htm

Just got this video uploaded, It was at a test and tune a few months ago and just came off the line to hard started wheel hoping on stock axles and snapped the driver's side rear axle and chunked up the gears in the rear diff.

Lucas happened to be awsome enough to let me use his roll cage camera mount when I went to the track and I was lucky (HA) to get this on video! Sorry Luc lol.

The car now has a carbonetic rear lsd, and stage 5 axles in the rear.... It was a race between Mark (EpicEvo), Brian and myself to who would break first.... Guess who won.

Enjoy

John

OUCH

High HP + thin non-forgiving sidewall tire = wheel hop = breakage.

What rpm did you launch at.......did seem pretty quick w/ the left foot.

Also it might be a good idea for you and others racing to just pull over to the side and stop the car from rollin down track possibly creating a need for a large clean-up

That rear-end set-up sound very stout.....mind if i ask what it all cost?

Can't wait to see your next vids w/ everything working properly again!

Best of luck next time out....

Yeah good thing the axle snapped right at the hub thats why I got over to the right so far, But I got lucky enough and didnt leak anything...

As far as cost, I got a great deal on the axles so around 3k... somewhere in there.

Hey thanks for the quick replies.....and after re-reading my post......i really didn't mean to come off like a "preacher"

I just hate having to wait in the lanes for LARGE track clean-ups that could be avoided.

Anyway after getting some wheelhop w/ the oem Advans and even the Nitto DR's a bit i made the switch to the Hoosier's and if i don't like these i'll go back to the tire i really love the MT DR for all purpose street/track duty

So the stock T-case survived I guess?
( I didn't see you have aftermarket T-case in your sig)
