9 second Buschur Built Monster
9 second Buschur Built Monster
I wanted to quickly start this post after a long night at Dragway 42. I met Trent Stanley at the track around 5:30 this evening. We quickly swapped the street tires with a set of slicks. Trent worked his suspension magic while I drained the tank and filled it with 5 gl of Q16. Hooked up the laptop and loaded the race gas tune.
Before I go any further I want to quickly tell you guys I live about an hour from the track, drove there, last weekend I drove it to Columbus for a car show and the weekend before I went down to Cincinnati. So in the past 2 weeks I have easily put a thousand miles on odo. NOT 1 Problem. I take this car everywhere is an understatement.
First pass car miss fired badly in 3rd. I grabbed 4th. to see if it would clear out but it didn't. Got back to the pit and Trent and I installed a set of fresh plugs. As Trent referred to them as a "special 9second set." I
a bit at that! Next few passes Trent made some suspension adjustments to get out of the hole smoothly.
Here is a list of all of the passes I made tonight in order.
19.43@68- missed second gear
18.14@50- Bogged the launch
11.88@94- missed second gear
10.20@142
10.11@147
9.84@149.46 1.46 60ft.- Trent driving
10.13@147
10.04@146
10.01@147
10.00@147
9.92@149.16 1.4860ft.- me driving
Yes, you read right I made 10 passes tonight and Trent made one pass that light a fire under my azz. My best 60ft. of the night was 1.4600 on my 10.04 run just didn't **** it fast enough. On my 9.92 run I only power shifted my 2-3 shift all other gears I lifted to shift.

I want to thank the entire Buschur crew: David Buschur, Daniel Buscur, Steve, Ted, Trent, Jarrod, Nick for everything they have done to make this possible. You guys rock!
Good to see you and the family tonight David. I love Renee's new car!
Trent, thank you for helping me get the car straightened out tonight. If you had not been there to lend the suspension set up I would have never run a 9. Yes, its true Trent can do more than just weld, I witnessed it first hand tonight. Please tell Chris that I appreciated him coming out with his trailer just in case.
I have to go clean the car out as I'm going to drive my 9 second street car to work tomorrow. Which reminds me I need a gone v8 hunting sticker.
Thanks for reading,
Eric
P.S. The three amigos are now Tim, Jeff, and Brian. I am now chilling with David and our 9sec. DD's

Excellent runs tonight, I'm glad I loaded up the family to come out and watch, I'd have been pissed if I missed you going 9's for the first time.
Just when I pulled in the track to park I heard the car and turned to see it run the 9.84 at 149 mph, I thought it was you driving.
I couldn't have been happier than I was to see you get that 9 second run.
Thank you for making us look good.
I want to point out that Eric's car is not only driven a lot on the street but it is complete with a/c, power windows, air bags, door beams, carpet, door panels, full stereo/speakers, factory seats etc. etc. etc. This is a real street car as are the others, Jeff, Brian, Tim etc.
Thank you very much for running so well. You realize you still have more than a few pounds of boost left to turn it up, right?

Thanks for all of the compliments guys. There came a point tonight that I felt I just couldn't get over the hump. Running all of the low 10's I was really doubting my ability to shift even faster to break into the 9's.
Tim, I really can't wait until you, Jeff and Brian ****** your 9's. Its frustrating getting there but once its accomplished it feels so good. I have no doubt in my mind you guys will reach you goal.
David, thanks for adding that additional information. You built me one hell of a machine. More boost huh? I am half tempted to try and break the 150mph barrier.
When I first showed up to the track I told Trent I was actually nervous about breaking it as I have been so freaking happy with it everyday on pumpgas. Thanks for all all the support, not to mention your friendship.
