Congrats on your time, I know you've been trying to hit 11's on pump gas for a while now. I laugh when people think a built motor adds like 100 HP or something, but w/e though... Anyways, the runs looked great and no need to compared a STi to anything else, as long as your happy with your car, that's all that matters! More power to you!

But on a serious note.. and I mean it with all due respect. But Yes on a Stock block Motor evo with maybe cams and a good tune/Minor bolt on's I've seen evo's run 11.9 on pump gas and even 11.6 with a good drive on race gas. It's not saying that you wasted your money as you worked with what you had. But I tell all my friends with STI's that honestly when it comes to comparing money/mods and power the Evo is way cheaper to make more power and is a superior engine.

In either case enjoy the car among your peers that's a very fast STI.

Dont understimate the STI

My 05 STI went 11.1 with stock engine and ecu - 565 whp

I have yet to return to the track with my built motor - I keep snapping half shafts in half

I am currently installing the drive shaft shop half shafts

Thanks buddy, I agree. Built motors don't do anything for power, just security. I could make that power easily on a stock engine. For as many downfalls the car has when it comes to drag racing, I think it's pretty decent, especially with this terribly hot and humid weather.

I got a lot of breaks on my setup and it's not really a drag car, I just drag race it when there aren't any time attack events or HPDE's to go to, in which it does pretty well at.

Hey I just read your profile info next to your name.. What did you run??

On topic, how the hell did you manage to get your STI to 3600+ lbs..

And BTW I have a customer in the 10s with an 18g and the stock motor STI..

Mine is also a a time attack/autox car - not built for drag - but you can see the times in my sig on stock turbo and motor with gas that costs less than 93 while at extremely high altitude. I would be very disappointed if I were you, and I don't know what the purpose of this thread is...

As they say, ignorance is bliss. No reason for me to wake you from that ethereal state. If you are happy with lower traps and worse times than my stock turbo/motor at extreme altitude, then I salute you! I'm not even fast relative to others on the stock turbo list.

My friend's 06 STi
blouch dom. III turbo
ACT clutch
93 octane
22psi
390hp/400tq on precision dynojet.

My 05 EVO MR
stock 8 turbo
HKS 272
23psi
93 octane
4ws tuned, haven't been on dyno.
from the 2nd - 4th gear, dead even!
the end of 5th gear he beat me by a car and half.

He thought he can dust me, but he didn't I wasn't very impressed with my friend's Sti performance
Before I bought my first evo, I saw a video about MINE'S JAPAN, the reporter asked MINE'S tuner about evo and STi, the tuner said in Japanese "zen zen tsuyoi" it means EVO is definitely stronger. and he also said it will cost subaru more money to modify to keep up with an evo.

The only one showing ignorance here is you, lol. I've driven 9 second supras and fbody's, 10 second corvettes, vipers, nobles, bikes..

The fact of the matter is that I love driving my Subaru every day, it is ridiculous amounts of fun.
