Real Street Performance STI
ITS n STI,
I give you a lot of credit for posting on the evo forum.
Everyone has his or her preference, and I totally respect that.
But out of all the videos, magazines and events I've seen in Japan, EVO does outperform Impreza in most of the cases.
Best Motoring also did countless test between EVO and Impreza, and the drivers prefered EVO over Impreza.
For example, Tsukuba records set by HKS EVO, and Cyber EVO.
Just like MINES Japan says, it will cost Impreza more money to modify just to be the same level as EVO.
The platform of evo is better to begin with. Factory installed FMIC, inline engine is easy to work on (cams, spark plugs). for a subie to upgrade to FMIC, it changes the overall balance of the vehicle; also, upgrade camshafts is common in evo, not common in subaru b/c it's much harder to replace.

To the Op... Congrats on your 11.9 run...

Remembering back to my 5 speed Subaru days it seems to me that I spent a grip and got about the same.
VF23
MRT FMIC
Godspeed header (okay I didnt really need this)
565's
Gutted TGV's
TurboXS UniChip (remember how gay those were)
255
100/130 AVgas (back in the day when AVgas was still cool, before the 100LL)
24-25psi
HKS carbon full TBE
I ran stock weight WRX minus jack and spare and ran 12.23@110 for like 7k.
Then I did the same on an otherwise stock turbo Evo for the price of a cable, a used TBE, and a MBC...then beat it with a 12.09@113.1
One 280 HKS exhaust cam later and I was running 11.90@115. That was before most of the cool stuff for Evo IX's was really out. I see it from both sides though, I love how subaru's sound, but posting this on an Evo board (I do have a NASIOC account and have for the last 6 years to be fair) was asking for a flamefest.

thanks man , I was just wondering to see what people are using with the newer STI's . I'm thinking of getting me an 04 or 05 , I just love the cars .
Just look at my little bro subie . Here is a video of Adrian's Subaru WRX. He was testing at Atco and broke into the 10's. Enjoy!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aip9Z-MJVgg
Reminds me of the car I saw sitting in the parking lot near tech. with a full set of slicks on about 2 weeks ago

, 10.8 first pass out, missing about 20psi in all of 3rd. 1.4X 60ftsI had to leave it there because something flew up into the T-belt cover and made a mes of my valves.
Xdrians car looks identical, I have stock hood, trunk though
