1/4 mile ball park figure of a turboed lancer

im just wondering. i have cai test and a custom catback. getting rrm turbo pretty soon. what am i looking at for a 1/4 mile drag? just a guestimate. with 5psi of boost.
boe got 1/4 = high 13 but he had more stuff. and i think he was boosting 8 when he got to 13ish.

Was boosting 9psi for that... with what you have listed expect mid to high 15's. Your launch will be the difference.

If you get slicks you should break into the high 14's

High 15's Boe, It better do a little faster than that. I've already got a 16.4 and hope that adding 5 pounds of boost to break a low 15 and at 8 psi run a high 14.

depends on your mods and your launch... intercooled/non-intercooled... header... port/polish... etc. I usually over estimate a little bit but that makes it even better when you get a quicker time.

Not knowing much about turbos, and their effects on an originally N/A engine...... how long will an engine last without any problems from adding the turbo. How many miles? How many years.

And which will shorten the life of your engine a turbo (rrm), or a supercharger (once Rippmod's SC is done)?

Sorry for the basic question, but I don't want to buy either if it's goin to eventually ruin my car...

Never been proven to shorten life until you over exert the motor. At 5 psi the motor is still well within a safe realm. Thus there should be no increase in wear. However due to the added parts and maintenance scheduales needed you may find that if you don't stay on top of things you could have a failure. With the right care though you will not have any issues on low boost levels. My .02 on this subject.

Just wondering, what kind of power are you seeing with 8psi? And are we looking at a very broad powerband? Or very peaky?

8PSI intercooled with ecu has put down 220whp and 233wtq for me... but i'm still daveling and will be running 9-10psi soon all day long. Once i've gotten that dialed in i'll hit the dyno up again for some better numbers.... but 220whp safe is great as that is like 260hp on the motor. I feel at 10 psi i'll safely be making around 240-250whp safely... it's all in the maps and the fuels which i'm currently tuning into specs.

By the say seems there are some acura intergra guys getting the new greddy turbo kits... they were boosting 10psi with upgraded kit and thought they'd dust me since i was at 8 psi... even though they are lighter the one that is did play with got pulled by over a car length by the time we hit 120 and let off. Time and time agian i just love my turbo man. Especially when i beat another turbo'd car which should have been putting out as much hp/tq as me if not more. Greddy might have them running really rich though for safety??
