We are experimenting now with the longevity of the aluminum rod on the street. Like Spin2gst said, myself, 9sec9, Al and VWjeff are running them. Jeff street drives his car quite a bit. He has thousands of miles on them at this point from the spring build.

There is a new rod coming out in the some what near future. This new rod is going to change a few things for us and is being built to hold up to 1300 hp it is not aluminum.

When the rod comes out some additional experimenting is going to happen on my end

Sweet! thanks for the quick response..

So whats the quickest/fastest crower rod engine you have built? Was it a 9.89?

I'm sure it's in this thread i'll have to just look.. lol.. Looking forward to the testing when you get the new rods.. (I doubt my car will ever touch that kind of number) It should be interesting like most of your tests usually are!

Well my street car went 9.5 at 155 on Crowers and our black car ran 8.88 at 168 mph on Crower rods.

We switched the black car over to aluminum to see if we could gain anything. I don't know that we did, they are a little lighter than the Crowers.

Now I use them upon request.

I've had two sets of aluminum rods fail since we started using them. When one fails it fails in a bad way. The Crowers have proven to be exceptional rods.

We have been using another rod over the last few months with very good results too.

Curt Brown went 9.3's at mid 150's on BR 2.0L w/ Crower Rods..

Also Dave, I know my build is new but my RS has 500 miles already on my BR Aluminum Rod Motor and 0 issues .. I have beat the **** out of it too.. I am going to guess it will last a long while..

Great job today bud! Had a great time as always You and Kevin did a FANTASTIC job on the BAD BISH That Mother Focker, fockin gets it! All you guys that live far away, over here, and over there... you really should make the trip to see this car run just 1 time in your life. On 99% of the passes you go from second gear on.

Off topic here... an update on my car. I had my first EVER drivetrain failure

The pinion in the rear end broke... I can say thank you enough to 9sec9 for lending me his spare diff to get me home. I would have NEVER guessed the rear end would have broken before a t-case or axles

Eitherway... 9sec9 thank you so freakin much buddy, I hope that someday I could do for you, like you did for me

Thank you guys. It's sure been a great year for all of us not only here at the shop but for our customers/friends too. We appreciate the business and the friendships that have formed.

I've said it multiple times lately but I have to say it again. This has been just the best year I've had in such a long time. It has been a absolute blast. Thanks to all of you for making it that way.
