13.6 @ 102.52 – Milan Dragway results
Ok folks, took the ol Evo out to the track to day. Met some other Evo owners, that was cool.
But let's get down to business.
RUN TIME EXPLANATION
1. 14.484 @ 98.68 1st run ever, bad launch, missed 4th
2. 14.514 @ 102.27 another bad launch, hit all shifts
dialed in @ 14.3
3. 13.635 @ 102.52 good launch, used I/C spray, broke out
Best 60ft: run 3: 2.063
Best 1/8: run 3: 8.784
I'm such a retard. I shouldn't have used the IC spray after all that. But I didn't know it made that much difference. Anyway it was fun. Hopefully my clutch will stay intact so I can go again before the season is over.

Man, I'm sorry but those times are for completely stock right? I was running 13.3s-13.5s my first day draggin the evo and I'm only 18. Maybe you should go to a profeesional driving school..it helps out a lot.

Or just practice. It hardly takes professional school to learn how to get a 13 second AWD car down the track in extreme haste. Spend your money for track days on a roadcourse. You'll learn a crapload more there.
Drag racing in a nutshell for free:
1) Shallow stage while lining up perfectly straight.
2) Master the launch without frying the clutch.
3) Shift very quickly, not abusively.
4) Overcome your fear of the wall and drive straight, staying in the middle of the track.
5) Monitor your last shift point where it is in relation the the 1320 cutoff.
6) Pick up your slip and do it again.
Ten runs maximum and you should have all this down. The launch is by far the toughest part.

I'll admit, I was being slightly timid with my launches. It feels like my clutch is already worn, it's just not so bad that it's slipping while i'm driving yet. It engages and disengages with lots of mushiness, no where near what it was when brand new.
I did order the SS line today, so I figure that should help longevity on what's left. And when it's thouroughly toasted, I'll get it replaced. With what? Beats me. We'll AWD drift around that corner when we get there.
Funds permitting, next time I take it to the track, it will have a clutch, MBC, high flow cat, 3" CB, some sort of air box elimation, and possibly some sort of ecu or fuel management.
Then it won't matter how hard I bone the launch, I'll be happy with 12's anyways.

Why would i lie about stock 1/4 times? In road and track their editors, who also went to driving school, ran a 13.2 in a stock evo. I'm sure driving school doesn't help amazingly, but it was still something to do since i didnt even have to pay for the sessions.
