BBK Turbo Drag Times
BBK Turbo Drag Times
Can everyone with the bbk turbo post there ET and Trap speeds along with how much power you made with the bbk turbo and weight of the vehicle. I know this turbo was not designed for the drag strip. But i wanted to get a sense on how it does there as well. Thanks guys.

check my post a few topics down..my car is an 03 full weight 3250+180lb driver those numbers are on a conservative tune @ 22-23 psi on 91 pump **** @4500ft
I made 350 whp on my old setup (9 turbo) 26 psi..the car is faster now and feels much smoother throught the power band and you can def. tell that power stays on up top where the old turbo fell off.

yup, we figure with a little more aggressive tuning 115 traps are possible up here on 91. but we are both happy with the results. going from our track to the next closest one in sacramento we usually drop .3 and gain 3 mph. The car is plenty quick for 91 without ringing out every last drop..My friend and I plan on doing that on vp 100 or vp 109, something with a high MON#..it will be nuts @ 27psi
I'll post a time slip later in my thread, it will be linked from an rx-7 board I'm cheap don't feel like paying an image hosting sight when I can link from someplace else. the slip I'll post I raced a cocky ws6 drive with "bescard" on his plate and "I eat Imports for breakfast" on his plate frame.

Here is a buddy of mine's car on the dyno.. 1/4 mile times are VERY accurate on this dyno but I was driving like a nancy..
I think it was 11.6@120
25psi 93 oct.
http://www.vimeo.com/2924576
Then he went to the track and went 13.0@113 with a 2.3 60 ft.
Better times coming soon!
FWIW this car makes about 15hp more then me and I trapped 120@e-town, he also has much better gearing..Definitely has the potential for 120 on pump, and most likely 125 with some race gas and boost

I'll start of with my excuse(s).. lol. I'm not a great drag race driver.. mainly due to lack of experience. My car is full weight (all parts, spare, jack, 1/2 tank of gas).... etc. Also, I'm 265 pounds... You get the picture. Also, we tried running C12 in the car the day before going to the track and made LESS power (yes, re retuned) than on pump. I did some research and found that C12 isn't really made for turbocharged cars... kinda weird how that works. When I did put 93 octane back in the tank, it wasn't back up to where things were before I ran C12. Of course we try to experiment right before going to the track... LOL
Mods are: BBK full, Buschur race FMIC and LICP, JMFab Tubular ex. mani., Megan 02 housing, 3" DC Sports DP, Cobb catback, Walbro, tune on 93 octane. Stock cams, stock tb and im, stock uicp. 70k miles on a IX GSR.
Last year at Cecil county I went a 12.13 at 115.8 mph. I don't have my slip here but if I remember correctly my 60' was a 1.73. I was lifting to shift and this was on 18" OZ wheels with 255/40-18 Direzza Z1 Star Specs. The ET sucks for the trap speed, but I think that's a pretty good indicator of what kind of power level we were working with.

Anyone that goes to the track with your BBK turbo make sure to post your results in my Stock Appearing turbo thread...all the times so far are FP series turbos...we need some BBK turbos on there!!
