Potential low 10's/low 140's?

I have to admit, finally losing the reluctance on launching my Evo has led me to a new found track addiction. I've been to the local 1/4 mile raceway a couple of times now launching my Evo, trying to get it into the 10's. I wanted to post up some results from last night and gauge where I'm at with the rest of ya'll.

Here's a link to a thread with details on my Evo...
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ba-evo-ix.html

Now for the suspension/tires setup. Please keep in mind I'm on Toyo Proxes-4 street tires and Tein-S tech springs on stock struts. Vehicle weight is about 3180 with me in it. My runs last night were done on Shell pump gas/100% meth and peak boost hit was 30psi.

Here's what my last pass of the night looked like.

2.3145.....60ft
8.1968.....1/8ET
98.66.......1/8mph
11.98.......1/4ET
135.58.....1/4mph

Prior to that I was pretty much letting off the gas after launching because of wheel spin, but still trapping in the 133's.

What I would like to achieve would be a 10.0-10.2 and a 138-141mph pass once I get some tires (either DR's or M/T bike slicks) and coilovers. Also I would like to set the boost up for 32-33psi on my pump/meth map.

What do you guys think.....before it's said too....definitely MORE PRACTICE TOO!! Which I can't wait to do!

Jorge R.

With that 60ft and 1/4 trap speed you should put down some pretty good numbers. Get those 60fts. down.

I'm not a 1/4 mile expert but I think a trap of 135 can get you into the low 10's with good driving and maybe a 9.9 with a killer 60 ft and driving. Not sure though.

Anyway good luck it looks like your car is making really good power.

They say a tenth in the 60 ft is worth two tenths in the 1/4. So from the slip you posted, if you went from a 2.3 sixty to a 1.5 sixty, that would yield 1.6 seconds in the 1/4 mile. So you would go from an 11.9 to a 10.3! Now of course this math is not 100% accurate, but rest assured, bad 60 = bad time... really bad 60 = really bad time.

What kinda #'s does the car make just for ref. as with a 60ft like that it's sometimes harder to gauge an accurate estimate on et/mph.

However purely off the mph you should run similar times to my car as it was a few months ago making right at 500ish on our MD.

The car would run consistantly in the 10.50 range at 130-135mph w/ 60ft's in 1.6x range.

My car weighs 3030 with me in it.

Those runs were made at about 80% of what the car can really do with a very good launch the only problem is scooting around tech as i usually only get 1 or 2 cracks at it before they give me the boot

I hope to break into the 9's as we found another 50-60whp so with a low 1.5 60ft i hopeshe can do it!

Sorry but i didn't get a chance to read your enitre thread but based off the mod list w/ the ported head, i/m, etc i don't see why the car wouldn't run in the low 10's at or above 140 on some real race gas.

I think you can take a look at Mellon's car since you have similar engine builds, turbos, etc.

His car went 10.45 @ 13?mph on 93 only sorry but i forgot the 60ft and that was on street tires i believe.....hope he can add to the specifics for you.

Its not the tires. I dont care how much they suck, you still should never cut such a horrible 60ft. Practice practice practice. You might actually want to try to lower the boost to something less violent so you can actually focus more on getting the car out of the hole the correct way.

Good luck , she is making some good power.

What rpm are you launching at? Looked at your other thread and we both have the exact same setup haha. Get some more practice launching, should definitely get you to low 10's. I was able to cut a 1.6 on my KDW's so not too bad.

He should let me drive it. I cut 1.5s 60' on 400-ware rated rubber.
