Well common sense would tell you a guy a turbo busa making 600whp that run190 in the 1/4 mile could be beaten by mike if he is smoking a cigarette and at 20% throttle and you guys beleive he is racing..

No mid 120 car can beat a gixxer 1000 unless the guy weighs 500lbs, or hes on 2 flat tires, or he started out in 6th, or he just got his permit that day to ride, or clutch was slipping or maybe just maybe he was toying with you..

Sorry Mike but i'm with Mike from AWD i just don't think that much of a hp diff can be made up.

Now if it's concerning breakage technically both of you are at risk and if it comes down to that we all know that's not a fair race to compare.

If it's a heads up 1 race winner take all then it's a coinflip.

And besides isn't Al's car now on a stock turbo and head unless that's the match-up you're talking about.......am i confused or "late to the show"?

Even if Al missed a gear, a 25mph trap speed difference can def make up for that against a 126mph car. Now if the Mike can go mid 130's on race gas, then Al can't screw up at all.
And, sorry but like Mike@AWD said, a mid 120mph evo won't keep up with, let alone beat a gsxr1000. 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, top speed. none of the above...

 

Most Wanted and 9sec9's Evos are dedicated track cars with weight reduction. They are making 600+whp with crazy amounts of boost with the red. That is the only way you're gonna go mid 9's with a Red.

His car was evenly matched against one of our customers with a single walbro running only 24 - 25 psi on pump and meth with a 62/62 turbo.

With so many great 62/62 and HTA86 customers like Suman and others who are out and about driving around with 700 plus whp having a fast Evo these days is no big accomplishment technologically.

To me - it was a important milestone when I was the first Evo to run 11's way back in '03 and when I was the first to go 9's on a Gt35 and the first to go 9's without NOS back in '05. I was the quickest and fastest Evo 8 for nearly two years back in the formative days.

These days, it does not take much effort to put together a 9 second street going Evo - look at all the long list of Buschur Racing customers who went 9's last season and drove to and from the track.

My Evo is kind of a useless car to me now in many ways - kind of like a nostalgia machine. Full bodied, all glass - 3200 lbs with driver - full NHRA saftey gear - kind of set up for a non existant race class for a race series that no longer exists. I take it out on the road every so often to remind me what a really fast car can do. I go to test and tunes and run 9 second passes every once in a while to remind me how long 4th gear can be after a really fast 1st, 2nd and 3rd and what 155 mph can feel like in a econo box jap car.

Seriously, this is a stupid thread. If my car does not break I will destroy Mike's car significantly. Not very sporting.

In my world, the only person I am racing is myself. My quest is to learn more about what works, what does not work and to fufill my passion for cars and tuning turbo motors.

Its obvious that there are a lot of envious and jealous individuals who spend a lot of time worrying about what others are doing, I am not one of them.
