depends on the power level, and the trans, and how high you're willing to rev too

I rev 4th out and have to shift to fifth. I have to get the VIII's 3rd and 4th put in. Plus I may get the 4.11 final drive.

Thats what I was afraid of. I would like the stroker to help out the HTA86, but not if I need to rework the transmission.

Isn't it slower to shift to 5th?

probably need a dbl syncro 5th or rethink doing a stroker or not.

you could do a 2.0 or 2.1 and rev it up good with a nice head

I shift out of 4th at 8000 rpms. Keep in mind I am on stock evo IX gears. I have no choice but to shift. If I was on race gas I would shift at about 8500.

Unless you're drag racing for competition or money and it's EXACTLY a 1/4 mile I don't see this being an issue at all.

Well I race nearly every weekend at the track and I don't want to be rolling across the finish line.

Are you racing for money or just for fun?

To me it seems silly that people stay 2.0 just so they can stay in 4th through the traps and report a "fast" 1/4 time when they could be having a 2.3 and be faster in almost every other method of testing but Top Speed and 1/4 racing....

The 2.3 is more fun everywhere else.
