Just want to say good luck to all those that are out there trying to make it happen. Some times its not that easy.

We went to the track Tuesday to try some new things. We had a large intake backfire. Big thanks to Tom from Driven getting our manifold fixed up over night. We put her together yesterday to hit the track and collect our 8sec time slip. Well wasn’t that easy lol. Motor did sound quit right so we pulled the head. Come to find out some foreign object got in to the motor and beet the hell out of the piston and head. Also it spit out of the exhaust and hurt the turbo.

Well I almost wanted to throw in the towel but that’s part of the game. We are determent to send this thing. The car just makes power to easy to give up now. We will have her together by Monday and be ready for the next non raining day.

Big thanks to Sparktech. Without this challenge car would still be in the trailer ready for a car show. Lets just say this challenge has SPARKED our interest to get her done.

 

Just got a call from a contender on the list....loaded up and heading to the track.

Unfortunately that's what makes this challenge that much more fun. We're glad to hear we've Sparked your interest and by the sounds of it, it's motivated the Evo community. Which is what it's all about.

Hey Craig this deal is way cool! It's about time for something like this, a little give back to the community . Just an idea... This is a pretty big deal and I know how much effort goes into it, but I think the attempt videos good and bad from the competitors should be posted so the community gets a better idea the effort these guys are putting out, and the vendors supporting them would get a little exposure. What do you think? Once again getting the heavy hitters together to do this was a great idea. Good luck to all. Indy

 

I applaud you for being up front with the community and posting pics of carnage. It just shows what it takes to get to the ultimate goal sometimes.

sorry guys. I too was unable to get a perfect pass. It was a huge learning curve and I took two lazy passes and shifted at 7k just to get comfortable. The car went an easy 9.0 both passes. Due to a few issues I wasnt able to get there until late and only managed a few runs. I am a little mad at myself because even the first run of 9.0 was an 8.80 pass. I was even on the rev limiter way before the traps because I made it to 4th way too early and my rev limiter was set too low It will happen very soon. Best of luck to everyone else.
