Please read the rules and don't take my thread off topic. Put a cage in your death trap and then come back

As you know running a car at almost 160mph without at least a cage is a VERY risky undertaking....something we want NO part of.

Please don't post if you can't abide by some very simple rules.

As to rule #1. Your obviously referring to your old car. Which is under new ownership. From what I heard it didn't make a 8sec pass just prior to the new owner taking ownership. This car is under new ownership and tune and by the sounds of it many parts needed replaced.

BTW..It's obvious we were laxed on the rules as ANY Ignition was allowed. Since we are hosting this friendly competition Safety is Important.

It's obvious your intent is to get this thread closed...too many view maybe. hmm.

Is a 4 point cage proper safety equipment for an 8sec pass? since I don't build cars is it? I thought not

Rule #1 amended. I knew that would come up but no one else questioned it. I think it's fair as everyone knows even if you purchase a 8sec turn key combo doesn't mean it will go 8s. Did you run the car and go 8s just prior to turning over ownership?

Props to a decent and smart vendor who cares for the safety of our drivers and knows that promoting a safe competition is the right message. a safe way to avoid any mishaps and a potential lawsuit.
the list is growing

hopefully we are going to the track next week

Just saw this thread and have not had time to read through it all.

At the rate I am going Pauls car will not be ready fast Enough, but not sure if I can even compete in this since the car has gone 8s already. This year will have a different Driver and quite a bit different setup.

In order to keep it fair. If the car is still owned by Paul that would keep you out of the competition. Even though it's going thru a complete rebuild and a new driver. We've gotta have some guidelines.

Any input from contenders or potential contenders will be considered. This is a competition to motivate the Evo community. This is very obvious as we didn't stipulate cars had to run a S/T Ignition.

We certainly would have loved to have you fill the #12 spot.

Congrats again on English's 2nd 8sec 4g63 powered vehicle

What do you think? Once again getting the heavy hitters together to do this was a great idea. Good luck to all. Indy

Jim thanks for adding some actual constructive content. I wish others could see it for what it is but I guess they are just sour it wasn't their Great idea.

The 8sec barrier is not as easy a task as some think. This shall be a very interesting week. Several contenders are fixing broken parts and readying their cars to go back out and attempt it again.

Good Luck to ALL.
