60' and the effect it has on ET's
Wanted to open up the discussion on 60's and how it effects the ET. Ive heard from a few that for every tenth you gain on the 60' you get about 2 tenths on the ET. Im curious how many people find this true, or what is your experience on this. I recently ran my two best times and the 60's were ok for street tires. My 60' was 1.69 and went 11.289 in the 1/4. Im thinking of switching to small brakes and giving a go at it with slicks. I think if i cut a 1.50 i should hit 10.8 or so.
I know, i hate to bench race, but im going to get the boot next time i go and want it to be a good one . Any hoo, discussion is open.

no that's not true from my experience and just to note; high torquey stock turbo cars have a harder time getting good sixty foot times with most averaged drivers compared to larger turbo car's and it's funny how people think that large turbo car's can't get good sixty's, they can and they do.
Its crazy man. I was also planning on doing the exact same thing. I know when my 60' went from a 1.69 to a 1.64, my 1/8 went from a 7.89 to a 7.81. I definitely plan on getting a small brake kit and slicks and shooting for some low 1.5 60' to high 1.4 60 ft
A tenth off your 60' cuts your e.t. by 2 tenths is just a general rule of thumb. It varies from car to car and the track conditions play a huge role. You could cut 2 tenths from your 60', but due to a head wind your e.t. will reflect a slower pass. It is a fact that lowering your 60' will produce a lower elapsed time, but you can't rely on it to take off exactly 2 tenths. Its gonna range from 1 tenth to about 4.
I would say that general rule of thumb is pretty good. I'm not the best driver or have the fastest car, but as you can see the 60's and the ET's.
