Drag Radials Launching?!

Hello..

Im going to the strip next weekend with a set of BF drag radials ..butmy concern is...

Is the Stock TC,Etc will hold for a couple of launches??

is true that Drag Radials are better for launching since they absorb most of the stress??

thanks

if u do ebrake launch u will be fine. but full slicks are better they dont have steel belted sidewalls so they actually absorb a lot more

I had a set of the BFG Drag radials on my Evo which i must had made over 30 passes on them and never broke a trans or t-case..I was making 500 plus so they definetly was holding up. Much better then street tires of course so will be fine making some passes.

Tires don't break drivetrain parts, wheel hop does.

I agree, but too much traction also does!
I realized in FWD cars those things will hook like crazy if you get em hott! I would always snap axles if I did 2nd gear burnouts. 1st gear they wouldnt hook, but would save axles.
A little diff in this scenario, but still worth noting I guess.

Raidals like between 20psi and 27psi of air pressure for drag racing. If you go and try to drag race ANY tire at or above 30 psi, your chances of wheel hop go up. Just think of how a basketball fully inflated bounces way better than a partialy inflated one. Too little air pressure can cause issues as well in a raidal. Underinflated raidals can have way less traction than correct inflated raidals.

The recommended tire pressure for the BF Goodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radial is 15-20 psi.

I've run these for a long time and I like them for a street tire as well. Just don't get stuck in the rain!
I usually put my tire psi @ 25, try it, and if I'm slipping too much I drop the pressure. It's all depends on the track conditions and how you launch. I launch at 7250 RPM's and have managed a 1.5 60ft with this set-up. The best advice, depending on what your clutch you have is this; pretend your picking your foot up like you just stepped in dog ****! I'm serious, it works...lol Good luck!
