DG Motor's Drag Evo 8 Tuned And Ready For The Buschur Shootout!
DG Motor's Drag Evo 8 Tuned And Ready For The Buschur Shootout!
Many people have had doubts about our experience in the racing department. Yes we are new compared to most, yes we bought a built drag car but we have been wrenching and tuning on it to have it prepared and ready to go to Ohio! We will be participating in the Q16.
Unfortunately I won't be able to go. I have some big jobs getting trailed in, one being from Canada and I need to be here no excuses. My driver, Mechanic, and Father will be on there way 5p.m tonight to make the journey from Long Island, New York to Ohio. The car will be at Norwalk's Saturday morning time trials to get the car semi dialed in and prepped for the race.
Last night we stayed late (2 A.M) to maximize our tune. That is done and it's now up to our driver to get the car down the track.
Sorry, no information about what's on the car.
Here is a dyno sheet from where we started and finished last night. I am only showing dyno plots from where the car's power band will be at the track.

This cars new tune, etc will still make over 725whp at 10,000rpm! We were pulling it to 9,500rpm on the dyno in 4th gear.
See everyone at the track!

We are showing up prepared and ready to race. I will be here running the show over the weekend. We will see what happens! See you all there!

That’s interesting. I remember awhile back you made a big deal about another shop not base lining a car they tuned and then you proceed to let them know that you baseline all the cars you tune. Now you buy a car and you don’t baseline it.

For a customer sure, the whole point of a tune on a dyno is to see where you start and end.
For a drag car, many times a dyno is not even needed. The real tuning is at the track, anyone will tell you that. Why risk your big investment by blowing a strap and going through a wall?
I could be a real *** and not even post information up about the car. As far as I can remember there is maybe 1 or 2 videos of this car even on a dyno posted on the internet. I thought it would be nice to share some video of this car during it's tuning process with some dyno sheets about what we are doing. You should be so lucky to see numbers on any shops personal drag car.
Yes, the best time this car ever saw was 8.8 @ 172 still holding the world record for that mph in an evo 8. We are for sure on our way to breaking it, we just need to drive the **** out of this car.
