A little update on my Evo 2
A little update on my Evo 2
Alot of you probably have no clue who I am but then there are some who do and this update is to let everyone know what's been going on with my car.
It's been a hard year and not alot has changed on my car. I haven't done any mile races and have been really bored so I decided to get out and do some local drag racing again. Let me tell you ,I have been having a blast just working out the huge amount of bugs in the car. I took the car to the track 3 times in the last week and it will probably be another 2-3 trips at the track until I finally get a handle on the car but I'm having fun again!
The car is showing signs that it will be getting the job done pretty well with a little more sorting out.
Back to the having fun, the reason I'm having fun is because I'm not breaking my drivetrain every other pass. The reason for this is I'm running on plain old street tires, the same ones I race the mile on (bridgestone REO1R'S).
o.k. sorry for the super long and probably boring post.
The times so far go like this :
1st full pass on the 1st day back dragracing in 3 years- no 2 step
60' 2.03
1/4 9.69 @167.88 MPH
Last time at track monday had mechanical problem and let off before the 1/8 mile
costed the rest of the way.
60' 1.73
1/4 9.96 @117 mph
I figure once the car is dialed in a little more I should be able to get into the 1.6 sec 60' range and then I'll start turning up the boost.
For the next week or so I am going to be doing a little intake test on the dyno and after that I will be going back to the track for more fun and games. I have a new goal I am going for this year and it should be fun trying to get there.
Thanks for your time in reading this, sorry again.

That is hauling *** on street tires Mike! I wish you a ton of luck when you return to the mile. I want you to take that street class record back from the Mustang!!
Good luck and let us know if there is something we can do for you.

Hey guys thanks for the props.
David-I would seriously like to go and kick that mustangs *** this year but I need a full fuel system upgrade to be able to go back, I need alot more flow as I am ready to step up the powe,r and also going to convert to the corn juice. I like its cooling properties for the mile.
It also doesnt hurt that it is like 10 times cheaper than import.

Get that boost solenoid in there and that'll make a huge difference. 17" street tires aren't meant to hold 1000hp.
