When dyno numbers can't win, the next excuse

We have all seen the dyno discussions go to hell and a handbasket. Never will be a middle ground or agreement between all the various shops and manufacturers. All that matters in the end are track results. The best excuses I have heard trying to discredit the Bad Bish. " Norwalk is not even 1320 ft." Wow. Thats a shocker. My favorite is "west coast weather is tougher to run in."

i never understood the west coast weather thing either, it usually stays around the same temps all year (especially in southern cali). Where I live it can be 65 degrees on day, and 25 the next with snow.

I never see west coast people complain about the weather, its wonderful here. Maybe in So cal (& AZ) they can complain about the weather, as in the summer, temps way over 100* are very common.

What we DO complain about is having CA 91oct. Worst stuff ever, shouldnt even be called "gas"

What if you don't track your car? Either because you are to pu$$y or because there isn't one within several hours of you, or maybe you just don't care to put your car through the abuse of launching over and over. Dyno numbers do matter, but are really only relevant if you educate yourself (bigtime) and then take everything you see with a big grain of salt.

Not only do we have 91 pisstane in CA, but go to Fairfield, Vacaville, Davis, Sacramento. The closer to Sac you get, the hotter it gets. And in Fairfield where I live, it generally gets up around 105-108* throughout the hottest months of the year...and tends to be 5-8* warmer up in Sac. Kills power really bad.

at any rate, it comes down to how good of a setup you put together, how good your tune is and how good of a driver you are. if it's 100* outside, for me I don't even go to the track. i usually try to run the most in late winter and spring or late summer through the fall. Then air temps are around 70-75* and track temps slightly warmer.

EXACTLY, my tune was done at AMS on a AEM EMS in July at 97 degrees, and right now its about 4 degrees outside and it runs and starts perfect. It has seen every weather imaginable and still runs like it did on day one. It was even converted to speed density. only problem I ever had was the power broke the manifold studs and I replaced them with new stainless hardened ones.

Well i think we would also need proof from a civil engineer that the tracks are flat and not downhill....
