What are the options for drag slick setup and stock brakes

I see a lot of people are switching to smaller front brakes to get slicks on the car.

are there any other options other than running motorcycle tires and running stock wheels or other 17" wheel variant?

Drag Radials

You can use stock 17 inch rim and run drag radials. You don't have to run small brakes and slicks to go fast.

Thats what I purchased prior to going to with the AMS Wilwood brake kit and 15inch slicks. You wont be disappointed with that setup.

I think the smallest rim you can go with on the stock break set up is a 16" rim. Depending on the offset you might need spacers to clear the breaks. It prob wouldn't hurt to get extended wheel studs and the right lug nuts just to be on the safe side.

it goes hand in hand. if you space it, get longer studs

smaller rims equal to less rotational mass which means more power transferred to the ground and less weight you have to move. thats why most people put there cars on a diet to aid in going fast

9sec9.com's Hoosier 245/45-17 slicks, perfect tire for a stock rim. Nasty good tires too at that. Im highly considering picking a setup soon. Theyve pulled 1.4X 60ft times.

radials are hard on the drivetrain... not enough sidewall flex

I heard they had softer sidewalls than most people think.

they are softer than most street tires, yeah, but there is nothing that is quite like an ET Street or Hoosier QTP

With drag radials less to no wheel hop is what we need. You start having wheel hop you start breaking stuff. right?
