Fastest 2g Auto/No NITROUS AWD AUTO
Ya made it to the track. The converter got tightened up, problem is the next stall down was way down 1,300- 1400 rpm lower. We thought with this converter change stalling the car up without spray was not going to be a option. We were wrong and got the car to cut a 1.37 60 ft NO NITROUS with a 42R on the tighter converter, problem is the center diff came though the case
We will have to wait for 2011 for 8's.
We will see ya at shootout for sure!

Watching the videos it doesnt sound like it was a converter problem. I tried telling Keith when he called the shop a few weeks ago. It seems it took 5.5 seconds (not the best measurement since the Camaro drowns it out some) to get it on the converter. In my experience he burnt the tranny to the ground trying to get it stall and then it slipped the shifts (3rd the worst obviously).

I understand what you're sayin but it was definitely the converter. To be sure we took both the converter and the transmission apart before we decided to do the re-install. After making numerous passes with the car hitting the rev limiter, we took the transmission apart and it was in perfect shape. All the clutches looked great and nothing was burnt up. After seeing this, we knew it was the converter.
After the converter was re-installed, we took the car out to see if we had the issue fixed before driving 3+ hours to the track and back. The car was holding the power like it should making nice clean pulls and never hitting the rev limiter. We then went back to the track, cut the 1.37 60 ft, and broke the center diff on the first pass.
We have stalled the car up like that 15+ times with no adverse affects on the transmission, we know this because we took it apart. Looking at the logs Keith is stalling the car up for 4-5 seconds. To be able to be competitive on a pro tree with this car, I think we will have to spray it. However, the spray isn't going on until we get the car dialed in on only boost, and that hasn't happened yet.

we just ran into issues similar to yours on the dyno with our car (ran a previous best of 9.4 with ~700whp and is now making 800+ before nitrous) hitting the limiter like it was blowing through the converter. pulled the trans apart and everything looked and smelled like new. if i might ask, how tight is your converter? we are about to send ours off to get it restalled and looking for advice on where to set it.
So its around a 4200 stall now, but we are not sure if its perfect yet.

Do you think it might be too tight or too loose? We are running a GT4202 non ball-bearing so we will spool slightly slower. I know you didnt get much time to test so if you're not sure its cool. Thanks for the info!
