I am currently on a FP black, BR 2.0, on E85 running 40 psi. The Dunlops Direzza's i have dont hold anything in 1st or 2nd. I need radial tire that can keep the power to the ground.
I was thinking either
NT05
or
NT555r
Car is used as DD and i really dont mind having only 15k tire life, as long as they grip.It sees the track maybe once a month

The NT05 isn't going to be any better than the star specs. Most people on these forums will tell you the star specs would be better.
You might want to look at the new Hankook RS3's. They're supposed to be really good.

With a FP black and 40psi....you're not going to see much grip in 1st or 2nd regardless of what tire you run lol. To be honest, you prob wont notice much difference in those gears without either a DOT competition tire such as the Nitto NTO1 (if you are sticking with Nitto) or a full slick such as the BFG R1.

yeah but not the right tire sizeOriginally Posted by TeKiZeRo
Nitto has NT05Rs to be used as drag radials.

if you want to stay Nitto, check out the nt01. grips pretty well for track, tho I have never dragged them. with that much power, if you do hook up, you are going to be worried about breaking other parts. gl with the search

what kind of numbers are you looking at with the built motor e85 and the black? Thats got to be tough to grip anyways lol

I think you mean Nittoe "tire" selection, not "wheel." May want to update your title.Originally Posted by Nomad4g63

I have the 555, and they work well for me with ~350whp, but I even spin them sometimes. They are low-level drag radials that are ok on the street. If you don't want a real drag setup and want to drive it on the street, then the 555s are fine. They have 245/45-17, which is better for you than the 225 BFGs.

the 555R good for both track and street the tread where is better then nt05 and will last longer

You're wasting your time trying to find a radial street tire to hook all that up IMO!
Especially any Nitto tire

I would use BFG's over Nitto. or just buy the hooiser DR that are made for our 17's

The Hoosier DR should not be used as a DD in my opinion it looks just like a slick no tread whatsoever. Stick with the BFG DR if you want to use it as a street tire also. At least it has tread. I'm currently on the Hoosier DR and will not chance driving 110 miles to the track as I used to when I had the BFG DR.

555R tires flat out SUCK. i suck at driving though. but these tires dont help at all.
