16" Rotas & QTP's with the stock brakes!

While on our quest for an 11.0 pass in my DD stock turbo Evo, one of the adjustments that we wanted to make was tires/more traction. These are the same tires from Devin's 8 second Talon, and we decided to throw them on the Evo and see if they fit.........so, what do you think? Sorry the cars not clean

It's a 16" Rota slipstream with a 26" tall Hossier QTP, all with the stock brakes. Who needs the hard to find rx-7 wheels??!!?? Has anyone put this 16" rim on their Evo with the stock brakes yet? Just curious.....

Devin used 20mm Ichiba wheel spacers all the way around. They are not needed in the rear but the skateboard look is

It's 12 lbs for a 15", and 13.5 lbs for a 16". So nice and light!

And thanks Emery!

I think I paid $125 a rim + shipping but that was a couple years ago. Check out the link for colors. Looks like they don’t offer the bronze metallic color I have anymore.

It's a 16x7 and the offset is either 35 or 40, I'll check when I get to the shop.

Nice! I was waiting for someone to do this set up. But if it is a 35 offset why would you need spacers? I have the same rim but in a 17 with a 35 offset and it clears with out any probs.

I looked at the site you posted and they do make them in a 16x8 40 offset 5-114.3. So that would mean you need a 5 mm spacer for it to clear right?

is there a difference in a 7 inch VS 8 inch wide rim when running the same QTP tire? the reason i got the RX-7 rim is because it was 8 inch and light.

It be great to find one that doesn't need extended studs and or 20mm spacers.
