Of course they are using extended studs, you can't run a 20mm spacer without longer studs. Many of us run the ARP studs, it's like $25 per corner.

And I wouldn't be worried about the clearance that much. You could grind the stock caliper to make it fit better, but nothing is going to get in there and scrape. And if it does, it will be a uniform scrape on the wheel, so it won't throw off the balance.

You could buy 25mm spacer. That is what I am going to run on my evo with the reinforced rx7 rims. Ichben what ever you call them.

Did you weigh the 16x7 wheel on an accurate scale? According to Rota, they weigh 14.5 lbs. http://www.rotawheels.ca/weights.html

I know its only a pound difference but its good to know before someone spends the money. The RX7 FD wheels I have in my garage (non reinforced, light version) weigh 14 lbs, 11 oz each on an accurate scale. All the info I found says 13.8 lbs but thats not the case. I paid $200 for the RX7 FD wheels on ebay last week but these Rotas look to be a nice option to the RX7 wheels and fairly cheap and aren't prone to cracking. I'd really like to try an RPF1 16x8 with +32 offset and see if they clear without spacers in the front. Each spacer adds 2 - 2.5 lbs each.

The RPF1's also come in a +15 offset, though I'm not sure they will clear either. It'd be interesting to find out though.

If the +32 doesn't clear, that was going to be my next option but they would stick out quite a bit. With 26" tall tires thats going to be very close to both fenders.

Them are the spacers I got for my evo. I got the 25mm ones after hearing that the reinforced rx7 needs a 22mm spacer I just said he'll with it and get the 25mm ones. Better to have more than not enough right.

Purchased a new set of Slipstreams. Verified they weigh 13.75 lbs on an accurate scale.

With 20mm spacers, the 16x7 +40 wheels hit the front of the caliper by the Brembo logo, just barely. I'll need to run a 21mm or 22mm spacer.

Nice!

Can you post pics when you get them mounted properly.
