I am currently running toyo RA1s on my evo 8. I dont really wanna run slicks cause I like driving my car to the track to make it less obvious. Is there any other drag radials that would possibly be better than these?

 

RA1's are road racing tires. They have a stiff sidewall. Drag tires have a soft sidewall. There are a lot of options..... 555R, BFG Drag Radial, MT Drag radial, etc.

 

Like i said in your other post i use BFG drag radials with good results.Ive also had a set of Michelins 235/50/17 that were dealer take offs and they worked pretty damn good.They worked well because they were heavy so they were harder to spin.I actually used them on my quickest pass ever.

 

yea the ra1s are road racing tires but they work decent as drag radials. I looked for a set of mts but cant find the size I need. Has anybody tried the nitto drag radials?

The RA1's use sticky rubber, which is better than nothing. But you are going to break a lot more drivetrain parts with sticky compound tires that have a hard sidewall instead of a soft one.

Nitto drag radials have been known to suck compared to BFG's, but they just came out with a new drag radial that I haven't heard any feedback on. BFG's are good, but only come in 225 in our size and wear fast.

P.S. - This topic HAS been discussed many times previously. There is far more information in the archives that you can search than you'll be able to amass here. i think RA1s are not bad so why do you need any way else and what for ?
