Car running rich?
My evo 8 is running rich? what can I do to possibly stop the backfire and the car running rich. WOT the car backfires like crazy.

btw I changed the spark plugs. took out all the old fuel and put new fuel. and I put octane booster. my last set of spark plugs were really black

did add any mod? Black smoke is a sign of unburn fuel. Did your ever got tune? could be the coil going bad! But we need more info on your car

I doubt the car is tuned but idk i did buy it from the auction. It has hks carbon tiexhaust, manifold, uicp, licp, and injen intake. I'm thinking maybe the catalytic converter is choked up or clogged.
