I used the HX35 before the hx40, was a good turbo as well. 11.5@123 consistent on pumpgas.

Hi, nice times. Is the hx40 ball bearing? I thought we had to do something different to get these turbos to fit on our evos?

Raise your launch RPM and don't slip the clutch as much. Your rev's drop way too much when you let the clutch out.

Also, badass car.

Thanks. The turbo is journal bearing. Putting these on our cars is no different then putting your standard t3 turbo on such as FP/Garrett/PTE turbos. If I were to put on a PTE 6765, it would be a direct bolt on/replacement of the HX40 for me.

Here's a picture that shows it for the most part:

Ooo awesome, so theres hope for me to get a set of QTP's without getting coilovers. I have tein s-techs. Only issue is theyre so soft so I might have to change them.

Qtp with stock shocks

I roll the Qtp with the bilsteins and swift springs, lets see your results. I only cut consistent 1.6s sixty foot times. I also have never changed launch rpm. Who has cut really good sixty foot times on stock struts?

Congrats man!! Car looks sick I cant belive you have the Kelford 272s on stock Valve springs and its running awesome. I put Kelford 272s in my car couple years ago with the stock valve springs and the car has some serious valve float Also, it will take some time getting used to the QTPs on the FD wheels. I was cutting around 1.6-1.7 60s also. Just launched the car more and more and got used to it and then cut consistent 1.4s. On that setup the best i cut was a 1.42. Just a little more seat time and you will see the 60s drop for sure!

Yeah, those s-tech's are extremely soft, I have them on my WRX.

I used to cut 1.59 60' times on my suspension w/ the stock turbo. Still need to dial in my setup to get back at that point

Thanks man!!! Your car is sick as well!

Yeah, I wasn't expecting the stock valve springs to hold up so well at 8500rpm's with the Kelfords, haha. I actually had a set of some manley valve springs when I was putting in the cams, but the person I bought them from forgot to include the retainers, so we stuck with the stockers. I'm going to rock the Kiggly beehives when I upgrade
