I also had a local driveshaft shop build me a 2-piece driveline. It was ~ $280 for a steel shaft setup that dropped like 10 pounds off the driveline.

Any competent place should be able to figure it out pretty easily. They could do it out of aluminum just as easily as they change the U-joints to 1310s on the shaft sides.

Sorry for the late response.

The nice thing about my Englewood driveshaft is it has stronger Spicer 1310 u-joints and a larger bolt upgrade for the flange. The rear end 4 bolt flange are custom 1310 milled to fit in the Evo rear end.

Weight:
Stock= 38.1 lbs
AWD Motorsports= 26.1 lbs
Devo (not made anymore) = 27.9 lbs
Englewood= 26.3 lbs

Keep in mind, this is with beefier u-joints. On the next shaft, Bill said he will do chromoly on the shorter end which should save at least a pound or two. Right now my current short shaft has thicker wall tubing than the stocker but its not chromoly. The longer alum tube is also beefy thick wall tubing good for 1000hp.

About the Spicer 1310 HD u-joints:

This is the best u-joint on the market. Let us say that again, THIS IS THE BEST U-JOINT ON THE MARKET!! We use these in off road trucks that race the Baja 1000 and compete in C.O.R.R. closed course style off road racing where they are subjected to unbelievable torture, and they survive! This should be the last u-joint you will ever need in your street vehicle. "Cold Formed" technology for the maximum achievable strength, state of the art 3 step seal system, high pressure synthetic lubricant developed specifically for these joints combine to make this far superior to anything available today.

Now that he has it figured out with correct measurements, he should be able to turn these out pretty quick. Maybe a day or two after taking your shaft to him. With the better u-joints and custom milling on the flanges that has to be done. $600 is the final cost.

PM me if your interested and I can get you his info.
