Weight loss plan...

Not me, I'm getting more out of shape day by day, lol...

The car scaled@3200 on the dot without me in it and a near full tank. Since then, I've removed-

-Backseat/belts
-Rear speakers
-Rear wiper
-Everything from trunk
-Floormats

And installed-

-STM small brake kit.

With that said, the car is sitting at about 3110 right now with the same fuel load. Next seasons plans are-

-ABS removal (10lb)
-AC removal (30lb)
-RPF1 wheels (20lbs less)
-Cabin floor sound deadening material (10lb)

So, with all of that, it'll be sitting at about 3040.

Obvious options are Mustache bar (13lb loss), front engine/tranny brace (6lb loss), coilovers (20lb loss)...and a few other lightweight aftermarket parts.

Things that I WILL NOT do/remove are

-Rear bumper bar removal
-AWD driveshaft (too many recent horror stories with them and the product itself)
-Firewall sound deadening (simply do not feel like removing dash)

Ok, enough rambling. Anything cheap/easy that I'm missing?

Thanks guys!
Travis

all the in-dash components? heat/ac unit and radio? carbon fiber hood/trunk. different side mirrors, steering wheel, race seats. and a tbe

then go on a diet yourself and shave a couple more pounds for the car

Thanks for the suggestions. The heat/ac unit is staying along with the stock steering wheel. Seats are def a possibility though, along with CF trunk.

the ABS delete is not 10lbs. i just did it. its 6.5 at the most there is a lot of other parts you can buy that are not listed on your list. give us a mods list and we can see what you have or can replace with a part that is lighter.

it all depends on how extreme you want to go.

Their customer service has had a lot of bad reviews as of late, and I know of at least one person that received one that was completely out of balance.

I had my local driveshaft shop make a 2 piece and it worked perfect. Basically a 2 piece alum and he offers a chromoly option for the smaller steel shaft and a stronger ujoint in the far rear. I'll post up some pics later.

i'd work on rotational weight before dead weight, a nice flywheel/clutch, wheels/tires, coilovers, small brake kit goes a long way specially with ur 3586. should easily get high 9's@150 with a full weight evo.

As my OP states, the car already has the small brakes. Thanks!

Wow. I have one of the original driveshafts when they first came out (early 2009 I think) and it has been absolutely perfect. I've daily driven for about two years with it and raced it pretty hard.

Same here. no issues at all. Been dealing with Mike and Shaun for a few years and have always given me good advice and parts have been received on time with zero issues. Sorry for your bad luck, it happens and Im dealing with something similar somewhere else also.
