400 whp clutch life

Those of you with around 400 whp. What type of clutch life are you getting. 100 passes? 150? More? Tell me about your setup. Single, twin, triple.

Thanks!

I had probably over 100 launches on my Exedy Twin Disc and it was still holding strong. Daily drove it for over 30k miles too. Have yet to see what the discs look like, but I couldn't have been happier with it.

Exedy twin would be your best bet.

Same here. My motor is coming out so I'll tell you how it's held up after all the abuse

ACT HDSS Street disc with prolite flywheel at 400whp since Feb 2009.

I would say at least 50-100 launches. Best 60' 1.62.

Still going strong and at 80K miles prob 50k on that clutch

Same here, i'm running a ACT HD street dick for 20k miles and i have about 50 launches on it still gripping strong and i did have it slip a 4-5 times on launches. I put down 420 lbs of torque 370hp on a Dynapak( half between a dynojet and mustang).

I am running a act hdss as well. I currently have a Shep ultimate ratio trans with 7k miles on it. I already need a rebuild. This clutch has locked me out and has tore up my syncros. Call and ask Shep or Buschur racing if they recomend act for the evos. They do not. Please do not misinform the op.

If the exedy twin is to much look into getting a competition clutch. here is a review on here for it.

My trans was rebuilt at Jack's Transmissions the same time the clutch was installed. Sorry you had bad luck, bad rebuild, poor install or whatever your case may be but like I've said I have over 50,000 miles on my clutch with a lot of abuse at the dragstrip and the street and my transmission is just fine. Just cause you had an issue doesn't mean it happens to everyone. I'm giving first hand experience so there is no misinformation here.

BTW who installed your clutch?
