Unexpected Tire Results

I went to visit my cousin he wanted to do some testing on his hoosier slicks.A little about his setup its a 6262 2.3 makes about 590ish He previously had MT drag radials on FD wheels(iirc).Best 60 ft he did was in the 1.6s.So when i get to his house we bolt on hossier slicks and go for a spin.Unfortunately while driving on street he hits something and punctures sidewall of one of the brand new tires.Long story short he had a track rental the next day and wanted to go.He didnt have any tires except for a bald set he had taken off the evo.I looked at his wifes TL and the tires 245 50 17.Needless to say the TL was left on Jackstands and off we went to the track.First pass he cleans tires up by launching before staging car. Results 1.54 60 ft and goes 10.34 @136mph.Next pass same staging procedure 1.51 60 ft 10.29 @135 mph.3rd 1.49 10.33 @ 136mph.Then i Jump in I give a Good launch to clean tires up before i staged results 1.45 60ft time 10.50 @ 129mph i missed 3rd its been awhile lol:Tires are Michelin pilot MX4 245 50 17 all season.

Nice! That is a little strange? I know those tires last long and are used on almost all Hondas and Acuras, but who knew you could get such a 60' on an all season? Now all the ****ty drivers are going to buy all season michelins, thinking their 60' will be like yalls! Lol

I knew the Pilots were great tires but not that good. I'll have to look into them a bit more

Very strange Indeed.Reason I think they work its because they are heavier and dont spin as much as the mt tires he had on before.

Short times on other tires were in the 1.5s.

^you could be right about the weight, but the only way to know for sure now is if you can compare the michelins to other all seasons and to tires with a little more grip like star specs. Otherwise its all speculation

All Season tires typically have rather soft sidewalls which make them a pretty good choice for drag racing. We have cut 1.5X 60' times using cheap 235/45/17 All Season tires. Is this an EVO VIII or an EVO IX? Five speed transmission with stock gearing?
