21st ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT
While we weren't going for dyno king anything in Tim's "POS", I do think its bull**** that your going to change the name of the winner after trophies were already handed out. Last year Tim should've placed 2nd in ME class due to someone messing up his auto x times. We contacted you about it and you said the event is already over, sorry, end of story. Nothing changed.
How is ESA dyno king class determined and what are the requirements? If its the same as ESA class for 1/4 mile, I'm pretty sure this car had a magnus intake manifold/full blown 70mm or boomba t/b: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...kill-mode.html Maybe that's why he didn't win, I don't know.
If you look at Tim's graph, the car was only ran to 7500 and at that same RPM made more power than this rocky mountain graph on "low boost and conservative timing/afr". Maybe its me but there is always some sorry *** excuse when it comes to a TSCOMP dyno graph? In the end, I give a damn about winning a dyno competition, nor were we trying. But if a trophy was already handed out, it should be done and end of story. As it was explained to me by you last year, the shootout is over and whats done is done.
As for the POS that dropped coolant that we built, that was Tim's car. His water pipe Oring that goes into the water pump for some reason leaked. Nick gave us the oring to replace it and he was able to compete the rest of the weekend. Noone here thought the bad bish was a POS for breaking a trans or for the 1G having issues. Its happens and its part of racing, which Tim does all year long beating the hell out of his car. Sooner or later something is going to break.
Tim(Arestg) and Jeremy(thekid113) both run a lot of BR parts(s3 head, ported intake mani, 65mm t/b, lightweight parts, double pumper) in their cars and both supporters of Buschur Racing, and so is our shop. Thekid113 had his father pass away yesterday so I'll reply to your question. It didn't mean anything but rather in good fun to you yelling "That's fifty more dollars!" when Tim's POS leaked coolant on your dyno. Everytime Tim dropped his water bottle, food at the campsite, a wrench at the track, etc, we'd yell that out. I don't think he'll forget he had to pay an extra $50 for making a mess on the dyno.

Nick also had a BR stage 3 head on his car, and several other BR parts including a BR Coil on plug CDI ignition system.
nit picking my customers graph just because it has a wave that was created from the boost curve is dumb. I can clean that up in 15 minutes and it has nothing to do with high RPM power. Its from the 3 port curve in the AEM as Nick mentioned.
We have the logs from the dyno and will gladly share them if you want to keep talking ****. his car didn't go over 14* and at peak HP its about 34-36psi. not once did i say his car was running low boost. All I said was we never synced timing so we didn't want to push the car until its tuned on a real dyno and we measure the gains as we add more timing. (E85)
Car came from Missouri to Ohio also and was put directly on the dyno as is.
-------------
To those saying stuff about virtual dyno: Go look at my results all of this year and try to talk **** on the #'s with the track results. I'll be waiting.
--------------
Also in regards to trophy stuff. If I had the trophy and seen someone else beat me and the trophy did not have any kind of special etching on it linking my name to it i would send it to the rightful owner no problem. I would not want something that doesn't belong to me technically.
Just because its over doesn't mean it didn't happen.
--------------
David sorry for this offtopic ramble in your thread and thanks for hosting the shootout again this year. i had a good time and will be at the 2014 hopefully with a GTR by then with some of your parts on it.
You probably don't know, but i was the person in the dyno room that shook your hand. I introduced myself as "Tom" and forgot to mention business name
.
I don't care what you think is bull****.....last year there was no way to fix the issue after the fact. This year he has a dyno sheet that shows a mistake was made and it's cut and dry.
There is no ESA Dyno King, it's Stock Appearing Turbo and Big Turbo. He had an FP Black which is considered Stock Appearing, there are no other requirements for the dyno. The car however is NOT legal for ESA in the drags if it had a Magnus intake on it.
As for what parts any car runs I don't care about that either. What I care about is having to completely disassemble our dyno every few years, rent a large forklift to remove it from the building, steam clean it, clean the oil and water out of it, replace sensors and air lines because of cars that put water/oil into the dyno from leaking and causing messes on the dyno. What shows on the top of the dyno is easy enough to clean up, even if it's a PITA, what gets down into the dyno ruins it and taking that dyno apart to remove it from the building is expensive, time consuming and a PITA. That's why there is a dyno clean up fee listed on the dyno waiver sheets everyone signed. IF the catch tray we built on the dyno contains all of the fluid I don't bother, we clean it up and move on. If they catch tray doesn't catch it and it gets down into the dyno I charge $50 for the mess we have to clean up.
The dyno is a HUGE PITA, people want to see it. Every year someone makes a mess, complains the tune is off, the boost control is off, the car was rev'd too high, it wasn't rev'd high enough, no wide band was use, boost sensor wasn't hooked up blah blah blah. In the meantime myself and two other guys are spending our day crawling around on the floor, sweating our asses off and listening to the complaints for $50 a car. I'd rather be sitting in a lawn chair relaxing and enjoying the event myself to be honest.
The Bish broke flex plate bolts, yep, I left no mess for anyone to clean up. The 1g ended up with a hole in the bowl, once again left no mess for anyone to clean up. BTW, the messes on the track everyone else left, Yep, I PAID FOR THOSE TO BE CLEANED UP TOO.
I was busy as hell with trying to run the event and work on our 1g. I'm guessing one of my guys or myself didn't write down the 602 whp sheet that was just posted or it was labeled as a Big Turbo car. Whatever the case, unlike the autocross times of last year, this one is easy to sort and fix.
Don't like it? I don't care much to be honest.

The Shootout format is changing a lot lately, so we are all clear, the new rules/format is up on High Boost Forums and will get cut pasted over here soon.
NO DYNO COMPETITION FOR 2014. Not worth the headaches and work on our end. It will be all Mitsu only, AWD only, $50 for two pulls, $50 for ANY DROP OF OIL WATER LEFT ON OUR DYNO.
Other changes have been made for those of you who don't follow the DSM/EVO/GTR Shootout on FB, you will see them soon enough.

Well I will say that it sucks that dyno day has become to complicating for the great DB. How hard it must be to look at a computer screen and rev cars to the same RPM during a competition. I guess when it's done on the dyno at Spec-Ops Motorsports while tuning cars and having our dyno days, we do something different. Thank God Summit Motorsports Park marked the 1/4 mile line so no one would arbitrarily mark the finish line for each lane and each race. So after you read this, and most likely delete, my intent for the $50 comment was meant to be funny and poke a little fun. Didn't realize you were so sensitive. I know us guys here at Ft. Bragg, home of the paratrooper, can take a little rubbin and not have a full melt down. It's pretty obvious you don't care. We come to your event because we are passionate about what we do, love the comradery amongst the less egotistical enthusiast, and it's a great way to showcase what Spec-Ops has to offer. Must be doing something right if two of the shop cars were both 1st and 2nd in ESA. So my final note is to lighten up a little bit, rubbin is racing!!

Ft. Bragg and paratroopers....blah blah blah, I was Army myself, STFU. Less egotistical? Is that what you call CRYING LIKE LITTLE FREAKING GIRLS TWO YEARS IN A ROW??!! hahaha Find a mirror and take a look in it.
Hmmm I can't be calling Buschur for favors if he's all riled up over this dyno discussion.
