That doesn't help anyone here. Maybe the Evo X guys but few go that fast.

Yeah, I'm on the same train of thought. Except for a select few that I don't follow, the Evo 8/9's aren't helped by this rule. That certainly blows.

Hey pizzaman this isn't the GTR forum, nobody gives a damn except the very few fast evo X guys.

What major thing happened in 2008 that made cars so much safer then 03's besides the addition of 20 airbags?!

The NHRA is so stupid still I swear, looks like they just took a bribe from the GTR community and that's about it.

Its not just GTR's, don't forget about the Z06's, new Mustangs, etc.

If I told the hillbillies at my local track my car was a 2008 they would belive it. Most of them don't know what it is!

I've had a track official tell me that I have the fastest grand am he has ever seen!

Ha Ha. thats funny.

And to the OP If im understanding what that says, this is for just that series at the tracks that represent that series yes. So typically the NHRA rules still apply everywhere else yes? Im asking.

Summit series and all NHRA tracks.

Old rule was 11.49

What changed in 08... all these new mustang/camaro/corvette/viper/lambo/ferrari/porsche/gtr etc were knocking on or passing the 11.49 rule stock. It became annoying that a car could be deemed safe by the DOT, and purchased that fast stock, but the dumb NHRA wouldn't let you use the car at the track anyway.

I know this is just EVOM, but the rule change was manily for the new American Muscle cars that all go faster then the old rule bone stock. NHRA doesn't really care about us imports lol

I am happy, no more making 3-4 1/8 passes only to **** up the full hit pass and get kicked out, and go home looking at 1/8th that were .3-4tenths faster then your full pass

Im going to try out the new rule sunday and see if I get away with it. It is "technically" not in effect til Jan 1 13
