8.77@163 Junk Box EVO/Boostin Performance

Hey EVOm,

Well this past weekend at the Shootout was a complete blast. I had a great time as I always do there. My car ran very consistent with a best pass of 8.99. I made qualifying and made it to the second round of eliminations, which I eventually lost to Devin from Boostin with his Red Demon. It was a great race though, and I think it was one of the best of the weekend.

I got home Monday evening from Ohio. I was thinking that I really want to get back to the track soon since I know what this car is capable of going. I had that itch and it was barely 24 hours since I raced the car last lol. Fast forward to Tuesday morning I get a call from Devin saying lets go to the track tonight. I had no hesitations at all and I loaded the car up and left after work. It was a perfect day for racing, a little on the warm side but the weather was great.

Devin made some driveline adjustments to the car after analyzing some footage from the Shootout. I made a total of 6 passes last night all in the 8s. Here's what it looked like:

First pass off the trailer- 8.90 @ 162.74mph
Second pass- 8.91 @ 162.77
Third pass- 8.900 @ 163.36
Fourth pass- 8.85 @ 163.90
Fifth pass- 8.77 @ 163.42 1.37 60ft!!
Sixth pass- 8.83 @ 163.33

The car is on a T3 6466 which I've been running the last few weeks now. Car is running amazing and is very consistent. I have to take my hat off to Devin and everyone at Boostin Performance. They sure know how to dial in a car and is always there with me helping me reach all my goals. Boostin FTW!! Also big thanks to my great friend and sponsor Angry Aero(Jason), Chicago Motor Cars, Spark Tech Ignitions. Also a big thanks to the community for there support over the years. The Junk Box has came a long way and I can't wait to see what's next

Here are some pictures and videos from last night. I am going to upload the 8.83 here shortly.

Looks like a handful to drive. I remember when you were shooting for 8's and now you have a consistent 8 sec car. Congrats! Whats your ultimate goal with this car?

DAMN Joey that was quick getting back to the track!

Your Evo and that track are meant to be together seems to always run well there

BTW what are you impressions of the Hoosiers slicks compared to the MT's and M&H's?

I could have sworn that Devin went to the Hoosier slick on the Red Demon but i think i saw pics from the SO that showed him on MT's???

BIG CONGRATS on the PB man you deserve it

Thanks Bud! Right now I don't know what's next for the car. I plan to maybe switch out the turbo and go bigger and see what happens.

Thanks Pat for the kind words man! My car and GLD like each other lol, the car always runs really good there. It was a lot of fun and the car just rips!

I like the M/T's. I ran them 2 years ago, and cut many 1.4 60fts with them and the best being a 1.40 back 2 years ago. I haven't ran them since, but last night I used Devins slicks with the M/T's on there and I like them. IMO they are a better slick.

One of my goals this year was to cut a 1.3 60ft. When I saw the slip I went 8.7 and cut a 1.3 60ft I was going nuts lol.

Congrats! Must feel really good to get the car dialed in and run consistent times. I think your goal for next years Shootout should be ~8.5. The 6766 should get you there.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I plan to go bigger turbo soon and see what else the car can do. But for now, enjoying the new PB and will plan out next setup real soon.

As for the driveline adjustments, Devin @ Boostin made some changes to my T-case.

Here is my 8.83 @ 163mph pass. I decided to upload this one since this is my next quickest pass. I pulled the chute at the end, it was only my 3rd time pulling it and I'm still learning how to pack it

8.83 pass:

The car weighs 2700lbs with me in it. I'm about 190.
