They are definitely serious about engine/fluid containment, like most large events. 4 days worth of racing in a 3 day event. Some nights the event runs into the wee hours of the morning, no time for cleanups.

How much does the car weigh?

 

Honestly, haven't figured it out yet as we don't know the weight of the car. I have a feeling we will be too light for true street which will put us out of any serious contention. We will weight in on Thursday night test n tune. We are really only going for the purpose of resetting the stock appearing record - didn't have any delusions about winning a class.

What class are you running in Kevin? Curious to see what your beast will do at a track that nice.

 

I'm not racing, similar problem. My front suspension puts me in Radial vs Modified, a 6 second class. My 7.96 pass won't even qualify for a 32 car field... This event is unbelievable. I wouldn't even be competitive in Hotrod, but I would still bring it out if I could fit that class. This event is probably the best conditions of the year to set new bests/records, I'm sure you'll get it.

 

Ahhhh, that blows man. Pretty amazing when a 7.96 isn't even fast enough to qualify. This event gets more insane every year. If you get a chance, stop down at the TPG booth and say hello.

 

what is the stock appearing turbo record? its been a while since anyone gunned for that.

 

Consider yourselves lucky at least you have an event like that to even be a spectator at nothing like that out here in CA!

The best ET was a 9.33 by AWD Motorsports and MPH was 150. I did 151mph on Saturday with a crap 1.9 60ft (2 step wasn't working), but I don't really care about that. We want the ET record.

Jay at TPG Tuning put the diaper on. I'll take some pictures of our setup once we get the car down to MIR. I have no problem sharing.

Don't get me wrong, the event is incredible. Just kinda sucks that the Evo/DSM platform is almost too slow to really compete.

 

AWD Motorsports ran a 9.33et a couple yrs ago...

9sec9 car had a 149.XXmph trap a couple yrs ago as well...

This car already has the MPH record beat with the 151mph trap...
