Traps vs rpm, 4.11 needed?

Thanks for the link. Yeah I saw that, but that's for a stock sized tire and doesn't show what 60' are capable with a 26" tire and a 4.11 which is one of the questions I really had. But after talking to Raif from RRT and deciding to stick with a stock fd (and not have to sell my fd/qtp combo and get a new one along with small brakes), I think I'll be happy at least this year. If I make more power then I'll be switching it out for a 4.11 next year.

With a 26inch tall tire @9,000rpms with an Evo 8 4th gear, you will be able to achieve 149mph. That is WELL into the 9 second territory even for a "not so hot driver". I made my first 9 second pass on my stock motor @139mph with a 1.49 60ft. You can't possibly run into a too short of a gear issue to break into the 9's with a 9,000rpm rev limit on a stock FD.

Yeah as much as longer gearing sounds nice for stock motor guys or even stroker drag guys so they can still trap 140mph at roughly 8000rpm..I just feel that its going backwards because ultimately you want to have tighter gearing. In my case I will build a motor to take 9k revs when I cross that bridge for now 130mph will have to work.
