CLOSER TO THE 8's!

Well not what our goal was but still getting closer and closer to them 8s!

took some more stuff off the car to makeit lighter but still weighted 3100lbs with driver lol
We took a trip from Vegas to Cali for CMI north vs South event just for our 8 sec goal since cali weather is normaly nice! But WRONG!! weather was horrible over 100degrees hottttt!!! Car hateditt!!!

First pass of the day i was #1 qualifier on FIS ran a 9.20@154mph with a 1.505 60ft spun a little so Lowered the tire pressure to 12front 11back,
my first oponent dint show up so ran by my self, tryed for the 8s again with no 2step
That was the 9.198@154mph 1.486 60ft, got a warning for no cage!
I realized i wasent gonna run 8s cuz i drove the best i could, i couldve lower the tire pressure and get a better 60ft and maybe a 9flat but it was just getting hotter and hotter it wasent gonna be easy, in a better weather i know a better time is possible, maybe 8.9999999

We addit bout 3-4 more psi since the Vegas 9.250@152mph, weather was about the same!
But Bakersfield, Ca track is 400ft above sea level, Vegas is over 2000ft
That shouldve made a bigger difference i think, everyone that goes from vegas to Bakersfield, CA gets .200 to .400 better E/T!
So im thinking the 7 year old BC cams on the car are not helping out, is restricting the all the boost or something idk maybe i sound stupid but help from the big dogs will be appreciateit, what you guys think, cams is the issue here?
WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND? Thx you.

But anyways ENJOY stock suspension, on 17s DD street car!

Nice job congrats on the new PB!

I'm surprised you hadn't been hassled for the cage in the past (over here at our closest CA tracks they are pretty strict)

GL reaching your 8 sec goal.

If you need any parts lmk i have some stuff for sale

At what point do tracks require a cage? I have done very little drag racing in my time and nothing near as fast as 9/10 seconds.

Far from a sleeper with an empty interior, forward facing turbo, and no cat back haha. Congrats on new times!

Thx! Is a 03 GSR With sunroof power windows and a that heavy stuff, still weights 3100wt driver, all the cars that has been this fast is because they either have over 800hp or is an RS weighting less than 2800lbs, all we took off was the passanger seat and rear seats then center consul, glove comparment stuff and part of the exhaust, put all that back on maybe 80lbs and go to the east coast on your beautifull 50degrees weather and -100ft above sea level tracks and hit an 8 with full interior! I allready have the aluminum roof, rs doors and will take all the stuff from under the dash and under carpet, that will reduce all the weight, but yea Im running consistent low 9s on a 3100lbs car with a little over 700hp on 100degrees weather, on most 2000ft sea level tracks! onnn 17s! Stock trans not a dogbox! Yea.....

TrevTec Motorsports here in Las Vegas does all the work on this car!
He build the motor 7 years ago,
a 2.1 low comp 4g64
regular arp headstuds
7 yrold BC Cams,
7 yrOld unknown costum Intake Manifold
Sheepey FF 6466 kit
7 yrold Costum fuel system A1000, recently replaced to a Aeromotice Eliminator black1
FIC 2150
QM 8leg
stock trans, just change 2nd gear syncros once in a while when they go out!
Tune with a 7yrold POWER FC COMMANDER!

Last year took the oil pan off and changed rod bearings just to be safe! More boost was
Coming.
Thats the only time the motor has been touch, head has never been open for those 7 years, never has lifted. No PP, just valve train and cams!

You NEED STM650 cams. They're doing a group buy right now. Those are your ticket to 8's the car is obviously kicking *** how it sits.

Nothing to be ashamed of there! Anything you can drive on the street and is running low 9's is a beast of the first order! A lot of people talk but you are backing it up! Nice job!
