Stock tcase I can account for appx 200 launches from 400-430 whp with amsoil from 59k miles on.
Currently at 84k miles and 550whp with shockproof fluid. 15 launches on drag radials cutting 1.6xx 60'
Has a small amount of play but zero noise and clean fluid comes out so I keep beating it.

My Shep stage 3 Tcase is going on 5 years now with plenty of abuse. Currently at 740whp and plenty of launches on drag radials at the track. Can't say the same about the transmission...

Can you estimate number of launches? Do you go to the strip a few times a month/year? How many launches in a weekend? A rough estimate would be helpful along with power level at the time. Thanks!

To be honest I couldn't tell you how many launches... I don't keep track. I would say at least 50 times. I go to the strip a few times a year and average 6 passes every time. The car is currently making 740whp, last season was at 580 and the season before 350. At the end of the day one tcase can break after 10 launches and another can go 200 launches without issue. There Lots of variables involved as to how long the tcase will last. (how the car is launched, tires, maintenance and so on....)

I think car nut has had my same experience, transmissions being the weak point and tcases being inherently bad or good from the start.

It's possible, I suppose, that your form of motorsport is putting significantly different stresses on the tcase. I've only done a handful of autox's so not significant amounts of autox stress. What I'm getting at is, maybe you're slowly killing your Tcase in autox/pro-solo, and it's the the launch that actually takes it out for the count. I bet wheel hop, specifically around turns, is the most significant difference we don't see drag racing.
